Defiant Whumpee who starts responding to the conditioning Whumper has given them just to get some kind of relief.
Thatâs what they tell themself, anyway. That itâs temporary. That itâs solely for relief for just a moment.
They learn what Whumper likes. They learn what it takes to get praise.
They canât find it in themself to deny Whumper any more. They canât take the punishments for when they properly misbehave. Only getting minor slaps on the wrist or across their face if they accidentally do something wrong, not being in constant pain, not having to dread what part of them will hurt next is so⌠nice.
Theyâre not totally broken just yet, they still have that nagging in the back of their mind that they donât really want to be doing this, but theyâre just so exhausted that they do.
On some days, after being in Whumperâs good graces for a while, they find them asking themself âwhy?â. Why are they doing this? Why are they falling into step? Why are they doing what Whumper wants from them?
Whumper is the enemy! Whumper is terrible! Think of all the people theyâve hurt! Think of all the things theyâve done to them! To their friends! Why are they obeying them?! Acting like a damn loyal pet?! This isnât what they want!
So then they act out. They deny Whumper. They fight back. They donât listen. And the cycle begins again.
Whumper starts the conditioning again.
And Whumpee becomes exhausted.
And then they are forced to comply for a moment of relief. Only a momentâŚ
It happens again and again. Only Whumper didnât seem to get tired of it.
At the first sign of Whumpee starting to be defiant again, itâs almost like it brings them joy, though Whumpee never seems to catch on to that fact. Its like Whumper knows theyâre going to outlast Whumpee again and again. Just as they always have.
They like a conditioned and well trained Whumpee, of course. It is so much easier, after all.
But they also enjoy breaking them down. Something about draining the defiance out of Whumpee is just too addicting.
They enjoy continuing this cycle.
Until, maybe, it really does break Whumpee completely. And they no longer have that nagging in the back of their mind that they donât want this.
Because, now they do. They do want Whumperâs praise. They do want to make Whumper happy. They do want to be good for Whumper.
They are no longer following directions out of total exhaustion. They are truly Whumperâs now. And they will be whatever Whumper wants them to be, as long as it means Whumper is happy.
