I feel like I need to share this because idk if Europeans are familiar with the presence of Aldi in the US, but at least especially in my area they’ve been growing a lot recently. Like Aldi bought out some local failing grocery chains where I live (Louisiana) and have opened Aldis in all these somewhat rural communities and small towns, which for the record I’m fine with
But as a result of this they are advertising a lot more in my area and also in many cases, the people in these areas have never been confronted with Aldi or any European grocery store. So the ads that Aldi is pushing out to its new US customer base feature a cowboy shopping at Aldi who is explaining to new Aldi customers how Aldi works. Like this cowboy is explaining you gotta put a quarter in the shopping cart and why there are very little name brands. A cowboy is how they want to reach their American customer base. They gave us a cowboy
Here he is, the Aldi Cowboy
the books I’ve read all make up the tiny pieces of my soul; to read them is to read into my heart
Do something unreasonable today.
Especially if you are a reasonable man.

Parents who follow me/see this, what’s a bigger priority for a child that’s about to be born: A cradle, a co-sleeping, or a car seat?
We want all three, the cradle is obvious, the co-sleep to have in our room if necessary, and to carry around when we go stay with family, and the car seat is also obvious, but we’re always short so we’re prioritizing on things to buy so we can do so slowly, and hopefully by the time the baby is born, around august, we have it all.
We have already secured diapers, the special (and expensive!) baby bottles, clothes, cleaning products and a bathtub, we now have a payment incoming which we want to use on either three, but just in case, I’m open for suggestions.
Also, anything else we can get beforehand that will help us with our newborn?
Thanks to your comments, we decided to secure the car seat, which is a “combo” that also works as a carriage and a basket, we also took advantage of a sale offer and bough the co-sleep crib, I’m left completely drained of funds but man now I can rest more easy knowing we have the two most urgent things.
The proper crib, which will work until our kid is 5, will come next month if all goes to plan, and after that we can finally focus on getting the baby room ready (mostly paint and fixing a door), get more diapers and cleaning products, and stuff for my wife she will need once she begins breastfeeding.
It’s been a somewhat stressful but very fun road to having our first baby! He or she (we don’t want to know until delivery day) will be born in mid to late august, so there’s still time to get everything ready, I can wait to hold my kid in my arms, I’ve been dreaming to be a das for years!
I believe we have the same car seat/system and LOVE it. It's been super helpful

“It’s photoshopped” honestly in the age of AI that has a homey sort of nostalgia to it. Remember when people used to put effort into faking things?
photoshop fakers are like the villain with moral standards now
just checked in on the colony of finches outside my nurse's office and they've developed beaks of the perfect shape and size for administering subcutaneous injections
Imagine if we did the “public libraries are punk” thing for other subcultures. Imagine if people made shirts that said “Soup kitchens are grunge” or “Mixed Use Urbanism is Juggalo”.
It's so tiresome watching everyone around us struggle with normies telling us we have to support their flavor of satanic pedophile otherwise everything is over. Just gotta take one more bite out of this shit sandwich. Our establishment pick will keep things afloat then next time we'll get someone in that threatens the establishment. Whoever loses stays in reality seeing how things are still getting worse. Whoever wins gets a few years of propaganda fueled delusions that things are actually getting better. There's no tangible improvement but some random post says it's getting better so yee haw!
Suport me, I'll fuck the Elves out of America

I didn't want to get too deep in the misadventures I went through this past week because I am well aware that I sound insane describing them, but Satan is real. Paganism serves demons. Pagan rituals feed human spirits to demons. Living people participating in these rituals literally die spiritually and are reborn in a sick dark mirror of being Born Again in Jesus.
I am weak and foolish and in my pain delivered myself into the jaws of Hell. Jesus wouldn't allow them to hurt me more than superficially. One lost and wayward sheep, alone and trapped, and the Messiah guarding what is His. 20+ priests and priestesses were afraid to touch me. For 12 hours I stumbled and prayed but they couldn't lay a hand on me directly. The wounds they inflicted on my feet alarmed the Urgent Care doctor. Two days later they are already mostly healed. I am walking normally with only minor pain. The scratches and marks they put on me in other places were all gone by worship service Sunday morning, save for one "suicide" scratch along my right radial artery. That is still barely visible.
Jesus delivered me from Hell and there are no words strong enough to describe how grateful I am. I am a fool, but I am a fool for Christ.
"They will fight against you, but they shall not prevail against you, for I am with you, declares the LORD, to deliver you.” Jeremiah 1:19
you may not think I’m brave but every day I have to see people disregard all of Susan Pevensie’s complexity in favor of “Aslan was just not a girl’s girl I fear 💅🏻✨” “Lewis was a misogynist” “it’s religious propaganda” and I am being so resilient about it … like I am genuinely begging you people to have a modicum of analytical integrity … have you never wrestled with a once-held belief? have you never struggled to find the balance between your autonomy and your connection to your family? have you never made a mistake in your priorities? have you never wanted to hurry up and grow up and perhaps lost a part of yourself in the process?
that’s what Susan is
but no, we have to invent the most uninspired, surface level take on her story possible and peddle that as the big takeaway of a book series that hardly ever gives you such an on-the-nose “moral”
