they should make a website like Tumblr but instead of posts everyone who logs on gets fifty dollars and you can log on multiple times per day you can just log on whenever you want and you get $50 each time
If you're really "just trying to help", you have to be willing to respect when someone tells you that what you're doing isn't helping them
I’m a deadbeat friend and daughter and sister I need to get a grip
Doctors are professionals, not authorities, they are supposed to work with you not make choices for you, if your doctor does not listen to you, does not respect you, and will not compromise with you, then it's not unreasonable to want a different one.

Oh we're all feeling this one aren't we?
its really weird the way some people legit look down on your relationship if you didn't live together before marriage. as if it was risky behavior not to do that and it's pure luck that your marriage worked out anyways. bizarre.
#you don’t know someone until you’ve lived with them#honestly getting married without learning if you can stand each other nearly 24/7 is rushing like crazy#if stable marriages is the goal and not just blindly having children you should live together for a long while first#popular romance and its consequences#I do believe marriages only worked prior to no-fault divorce because of religious social and familial pressures#forcing two people who only just realized they can’t stand each other’s habits is terrible
see what i mean
"can't stand each others habits" please
No one gets divorced because they find out their spouse snores or sings off-key in the shower. Every person has some habits that will clash with yours if you have to live with them. A successful marriage doesn't depend on somehow finding a person you are magically compatible with who will never annoy you. It depends on having the maturity to adapt to each other and learn to put up with little annoyances for the greater good of loving each other. And tbh it's easier to do that when you've already committed to each other in marriage, when you've both promised to stay the course, than when you approach living together as just a trial run with the option to quit at any time.
also I’m p sure living together prior to marriage increases probability of divorce. So, statistically, it’s better to commit to your partner before cohabitating with them if you’re looking for a stable marriage.
learning that addiction is a progressive narrowing of the range of things that make one happy was kinda life changing for me. i apply it to everything not even just addiction i am always checking to ask if i am narrowing my range of happiness or widening it

It’s not just that the leaves will break down on their own (and enrich the soil while they’re at it!). During the winter, all sorts of insects use leaf litter for shelter, and they’re the first food available to larvae in early spring. Leaves also insulate the plants under them during the winter, which is important if you’re in an area prone to frost heaving.
One of the best thing you can do for native pollinators in your area is Leave the Leaves!
My mom stopped raking her leaves when she found out about this but her neighbor used his leaf blower to clear out her yard the first year she decided to try. So she started posting a Leave the Leaves sign in the yard each year with an explanation about why it’s good and two winters later only one house still rakes their lawn each year.
We’ve seen a dramatic increase in the biodiversity in the neighborhood since. We have birds that we haven’t seen since we moved into the city from living rurally and those birds are starting to nest in the trees and gardens in spring. The swallows and bats are back at night. The single woodpecker we would only occasionally see visits daily and even has a friend that has joined it. We have more squirrels and rabbits and shockingly fewer moles and voles. We heard an owl outside last fall.
Leave the leaves indeed.
The pro-choice worldview is inherently opposed to human rights. If you have to be something in addition to human (ie, conscious, of a certain age, able-bodied, wanted) to have rights, you do not have human rights. You have rights in accordance with certain accidents about yourself, which are all completely arbitrary.
Either all humans are people or humans do not inherently deserve rights.
hey bro, can you give yourself some grace? cut yourself some slack? maybe treat yourself with the same patience and love you offer to your peers?
"you can use ai to improve spelling and grammar"
if you’re wondering why spellcheck and grammar check is worse now, it’s because they replaced it with AI! 🥰
now, instead of maintaining a comprehensive, nuanced, and human-maintained encyclopedia by which to check your document, they have switched to an AI that just compares what you’ve written to what other people write in, say, Google Docs, and use the most commonly used iteration.
ever have it change something like “all intents and purposes” to “all intensive purposes” or “should’ve” to “should of”? that’s why!
people make the same spelling and grammar mistakes so often, AI thinks that’s the way you say it because it is a PATTERN DETECTOR and cannot THINK let alone use language.
