Irish McCalla, she was "Sheena of the Jungle" on 1950s television. Although a pretty good actress, she didn't have the career she should have. Her height made her difficult to cast. Most Hollywood leading men are of average or below average height. Irish was 5'11" and towered over most actors. The Studios also didn't know how to best use her physical charms. She was too hot for the era. A decade later, she would have been top billed everywhere. She was never cast in a role that required the wearing of a bikini, for God knows what reason. Her Shena garb was essentially Jungle Nun attire. Sheens was perceived as a kid's show. (Why not give the dads at home a little something?) She was athletic and grew up a tom boy. Even that worked against her as 50s actresses were supposed to be demure and retiring.
