Princess Virginia von Fürstenberg (Virginia Carolina Theresa Pancrazia Galdina Prinzessin zu Fürstenberg; 1940-2024), known as Ira von Fürstenberg, was an Italian actress, jewelry designer, and public relations manager for the fashion designer Valentino Garavani. She was a member by birth of the princely family of Fürstenberg and a member by marriage of the princely family of Hohenlohe-Langenburg.

This photo was taken in July 1967 in the municipality of Porto Rotondo, located on the island of Sardinia in Italy.

The author of the picture is Italian photographer Mario De Biasi, who captured the actress for the Mondadori agency.

This famous photograph of Ira von Furstenberg was taken by photographer Helmut Newton for Vogue magazine. When: The shooting took place in 1968 (the frame was included in a series of publications at the end of 1968). The photo shoot was organized in Paris, France, to showcase the luxurious fur products of that season.
