For a fucking show about outcasts, it's real ironic that the South Asian woman who gathered a group that society hurt and was trying to bring down the system that abused them was one of the most hated by the fandom and ignored by the writers.

I remember being so confused by the hatred of The Lost Sister when I was younger because I thought it was a fun episode. And it was one of the only episodes that allowed us to see the brutality and cruelty of the lab. But then I thought, oh maybe people just didn't like it because it deviated from the main Hawkins plot.

Kali represents exactly what the series should have been about. Victims and outcasts finding the power and strength to rise against a system that neglected and abused them. But instead of being empowered what happened to Kali?

She was kidnapped and put back into that abusive cycle. Literally being poked and prodded like an animal and used for her blood. And as soon as the narrative got what it wanted from her, it killed her. No happy ending for her. Not even a chance at happiness.

Mind you, that was while half this fandom was screaming about her being a traitor (can we use our thinking caps? HOW would she have even gotten in touch with Henry? He can't talk to people outside Hawkins and the military's radio waves would have stopped him from contacting her in the Upside Down) and the other half were still hating on her from three seasons ago.

Like I get so genuinely excited about Kali because I think her character is really cool and has a really amazing relationship with El that I would love to be revisited

But at the same time it just feels like everything shifts so suddenly and it just disorients me personally like I think better placement would've helped so much

It's sad though because if the episode wasn't received so poorly then maybe Kali wouldn't have been completely forgotten about and uh never mentioned again??

I honestly want to see her again but without having heard from her since season 2 and her literally not being mentioned it feels difficult for me to see how the Duffers could pull her into season 5 with so much going on... if the Duffers can execute it though I'm all for it.
