I feel like tumblr users could stand to be a bit more humble abt people misinterpreting their art

people truly get so phenomenally pissed off about others tagging their art with character names or not realizing that something was a Deeply Personal Vent Piece and like. while I get how frustrating that is I do feel that if you can't take the thought of someone not getting your work (and see it as an intentional personal slight against you, The Artist) then you simply should not be attempting to share it with an audience of thousands of people who have literally zero context beyond briefly seeing a picture on their dash

I am in awe of the artistic dignity of using stock images someone else made on a t-shirt made in a sweatshop. Yes, you cannot be replaced by AI, but that is because you have not done any labor, not because your banal impact font memes people put on shirts for pennies are too complex

you are not required to exploit sweatshop labour to produce merchandise in order to participate in society though are you? most people don't.
