Figured this wouldn't get much traction over there but posted anyway
Yes I'm aware it's the animation page but my point still stands
Also while we're all talking about anti-racism, here's a helpful tip:
Performative self-flagellation over being white is not a substitute for doing serious introspection about the ways you have been complicit in or rewarded by a white-supremacist society, nor doing the work to dismantle white supremacy.
A white person chiming in to a conversation about racism to say "I'm sorry for being white" or "white people suck, I say this as a white person" is just a masturbatory way to try to assuage your own feelings of shame without actually doing anything. It doesn't make you look like "one of the good ones." It makes you look like someone who centers your own feelings about it.
using violence to liberate people from sweatshops, unsafe mines, and grinding poverty isn't the same as using violence to impose those things on people. the idea that violence is morally repugnant regardless of context is a belief that every oppressor throughout history would love for the oppressed to hold
For anybody not caught up: Tennessee just passed a new map that pretty much makes it so black neighborhoods have no power in local votes. Two things about this. While protestors were chanting "No Jim Crow", white Tennessee lawmakers were caught laughing on video. On top of this, Representative Justin Pearson and his brother KeShaun Pearson were arrested for trying to give their takes on the matter (which is not only their legal right but literally his job). If you give a shit about black people, help fight this. We can't allow a return to Jim Crow.
Heyyy guess where I live
A local paper had some great photographs, all taken by Nicole Hester:
The day before, Rep. Justin Pearson tries to attend a Senate Committee meeting and is barred access by the Sergeant at Arms.
Lawmakers and protesters link arms as the descend the capitol steps.
Once inside the chamber, Democratic representatives continued to stand together with arms linked.
They continued standing together with arms linked as votes were cast.
Democratic representatives take a group photo protesting the redistricting.
Rep. Justin Jones burns a photo of the Confederate flag with the words, We will not go back.
And stomps the ashes.
KeShaun Pearson being escorted from the building by the Staties.
KeShaun Pearson (left) being taken into custody. Rep. Justin Pearson (right) showing his support of his brother.
Additional information: State lawmakers have been gunning for Pearson and Jones nearly their entire terms. Most notably, in 2023, the House expelled them for participating in a protest at the Capitol. Their districts had to have special elections to have them reinstated.
Pearson is one of the plaintiffs of a lawsuit seeking an injunction against the redistricting.
The city most affected by the redistricting is Memphis, where locals are fighting against xAI's data center, which has been operating with very little oversight and is poisoning the people who live there. Here is a previous post on that with more information and more sources.

"well, if it isn't taki. with his snatched little waist and supple ass"
It's been a while since I watched og Kamen rider
I do not remember him being built like that
Fuck it at this point can yâall actually start supporting indie animation and indie games made by black artists/creators because Iâm really getting sick and tired of everyone hyping these racist phase mediocre white people that get 90% of their humor from 2000s newgrounds animations
For the people asking âHow am I supposed to find them?â Look them up, itâs that easy.
Here is an entire youtube playlist by Mannof1000Thoughts with a ton of indie animation videos AND a livestream he did where he watched some with the creators!!!
Black Indie Cartoons to watch https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PL2xOBojHKMmoATz6odc0Jo0KNcyO0yXJZ&si=XJ-bUub8_CoTEbUO______________________
For games, there are TONS of lists out there like these:
In celebration of Black History Month, here's a roundup of games made by black developers that should be on your radar.
The MIX is celebrating Black game developers by hosting a stream to talk organically about game development from the Black perspective.
Thinking about that âwhite people like the blues just fine, they just donât like the people who make itâ quote from Sinners since it was robbed of the Best Film Oscar.
Robbed of Best Film, won Best Score, hoo boy they weren't kidding
if a story introduces "the church" and it's even slightly normal for more than 3 seconds, i lose trust immediately.
where is the corruption. where is the weird angel imagery. where is the unskippable trauma sequence. you aren't fooling me.
u should be mad at the ppl lying on ur television about caring about u and ur rights that should piss u off more than a tumblr blogger disliking them, they literally be in the tv playingggg in ur face đ

2 be fair i was a kid and im sure other ppl were also children when obama was in office so like in middle school in my head it was cool just off the basis of âwow didnât know black ppl could do thatâ but its like incredible how many liberals on here who r like grown like full adults rn always bring up obama as like a shining star of morality and progress and Change when criticizing trump (or when ppl criticize the democratic party) bc they full on likeâŚr either uneducated in what hes done to further violent imperialism and anti immigration or just dont care bc hes blue and not red and expect u 2 take it seriously like. from a child that mindset makes sense but theres like 27 year olds on here that will get head smashing into a wall angry if u say obama is a fascist and ur expected to like. debate these people
the democrats on live television saying they r ok with the war and genocide happening and there only real problem is that trump is being rude and unprofessional in tone about it and yall think this system is salvageableâŚâŚâŚ.send the flood!
To all of the grifters and bigots on this site, I hope you suffer and die of some currently undiscovered incurable disease
The world would benefit greatly from you not being here
Protect black women. Fuck the state of Georgia.
Same Georgia that, last year, kept Adriana Smithâs brain dead body corpse alive because she was 9 weeks pregnant, against her families pleas by the way. They even forced the babies birth date earlier because she was decomposing! As of 2 weeks ago he was finally taken out of NICU but is still to this day, entirely reliant on oxygen, because he canât breath on his own. And who pays for this? The government and hospital used a dead black womans body for an experiment after all, so of course theyâd at LEAST foot the bill right? Just kidding itâs the family that wanted to put their daughter and grandson to rest of course! Itâs only $600,000+ USD!
â
âAnd to those of you who think youâre safe because youâre ready and wanting to start a family so obviously youre not getting an abortion anyway! So what?? Think again!! Because you can now be charged as a âwould be killerâ for using pain killers during pregnancy because the same ingredient just HAPPENS to also be found in abortion pills!
They literally used these women as experimental test runs for what they can get away with and theyâre getting away with it!!
Justice For Alexia Moore and Adriana Smith
This is why I can only laugh at people calling themselves "pro-life". If this is pro-anything, it's pro-suffering.
The suffering is the point
They are enemies of decency and humanity

I can't remember where I read it last week, but the person discussed how when we think of chattel slavery in the US, we tend to think of massive plantations of cotton or tobacco, with one very rich white master or mistress with lots of land and lots of enslaved people. But we very rarely think of the many families that had just one or two slaves, in smaller homes.
Because it's not like you had to pay them, so once your family owned someone, they owned them and their descendants indefinitely. Could you pay and eventually free em- sure! You could also send them anywhere you want for any labor you want, could have an enslaved woman bred for more children, or maybe save up and buy new slaves and sell the old. Like cattle (thus, chattel slavery).
So it's interesting that many people go "oh well it's not like my family owned slaves!" Because like, one, how do you know that? Have you ever actually asked your grandmas about their grandmas? How many of your family members grew up with mammies? Have you ever asked? I wonder how many people have actually done the digging for the truth (or was it easier to just benefit). Because I've talked to my grandma, who picked cotton in the sea islands. She had to have been doing that for someone in the 1930s and 40s!
And two, it's easy to think that because your family (or someone else's) didn't own sprawling stolen land and generational blood money like a plantation owner, that it wasn't as important. But... It was. That was still someone's entire life. That was a person, whose labor benefitted and saved a family money that could be used in other ventures. How often do we think of them?
If I see one more sports gambling ad I'm blowing my head off
