TW: body transformation & body horror if you squint
Imagine
The world is about to end but the 5 heroes are prophesied to save the world
The 5 heroes are Cole, Jay, Kai, Nya and Lloyd
Somehow, Zane gets tangled up in the heroes' quest for power
When each hero is assigned a power, Zane is left empty-handed
On top of that, he discovers that he is not made of flesh but merely a machine
He is thus sent home as he would be of no use to save the world
Upon entering the forest, where his home lies, he realizes that ice-creatures have befallen it
Zane still has his shuriken and manages to defeat the creatures
The creatures lay dead in front of him but their icy core is still pulsing
The core of a creature calls to Zane and hunger overcomes him
It terrifies him, he's a machine, he's not human
He's not supposed to feel hungry!
Zane regains consciousness after he gulped down all cores of the ice creatures
It takes a moment but then his body changes
Zane hurls over in pain â he's not supposed to feel pain â as his metal parts move, bend and break to connect with the foreign matter of the icy cores
When the process is done, Zane realizes that he now possesses the power to control ice
Zane decides to go back to the 5 chosen heroes to help them in their fights
During the fights, Zane notices that his nature is changing
Anger overcomes him more often and he is quick to lose his temper
Zane starts to feel the desire to hurt and break and disembowel his enemies
Zane soon realizes that he's staring to become an ice creatures himself
With every fight, he has an inner battle against the hurtful desire of the ice creatures
They want blood and pain in exchange for his powers
Zane does his best not to lose control but it happens eventually
Zane decides that he can not exist like this any longer
The heroes and Zane eventually defeat their enemies and re-establish peace
Zane decides the heroes use their powers to kill him so that he doesn't become the next threat
He has lost his humanity, as he has lost the parts that made him a machine
He's now more a creature than a being of reason; as of now, he's the last remaining threat to humanity
Eventually, the 5 heroes respect his wish and end his life, using up their last powers
Epilogue
With the calamity defeated, the 5 heroes lose their powers
They help rebuild their cities and other parts of the world
Some chase after their passions, others go back to their daily life
A statue of Zane is placed in the rebuilt city, in memory of the one who was not chosen but stood up for humanity nonetheless
At the extent of his own life
Post credit scene
The display of a computer flickers and a room comes to life
Machines start to whirr and in the middle of the room is a table
On the table lay spare metal parts that get assembled by a machine
A mechanic voice echoes from the walls, speaking incomprehensible words until a sentence cuts through the chaos: "I am... Zane"
Can you imagine being Clint, and all of a sudden random mining related stuff that no one else cares about starts getting fixed? The mine carts are fixed all of a sudden, the bridge to the quarry is fixed a few months later. All of a sudden there's rumors that someone reached the bottom of the mines.
It's no wonder Mr Nice Guy is aloof towards the farmer, for the farmer does everything Clint imagines doing in his midnight fantasies.

You know, an interesting tumblr transformation that's happened gradually, and which I've seen no one talk about: ask-culture has essentially dropped off to nothing.
By which I mean, asks used to be WAY more of the tumblr economy. They used to be more common to send, and receive, and see. They were integral to the collaborative, forum-like behavior of old tumblr communities, not even to speak on the HUGE number of ask-blogs that used to exist to only be interacted with in ask-form.
I'm not saying this in a vying-for-attention way but instead in an observational way: I used to get way way more asks in like 2015, even with a fraction of my follower count. I wonder if it's due to the homogenization of social media sites? There's a lot more of this divide between "content creator" and "consumer" instead of just a bunch of peer blogs who would talk to each other. "Asks" aren't really a thing on twitter, are they? And as I understand it, the closest thing to an "ask" on instagram or tiktok would be a creator screenshotting some comment and responding to it in a new reel or video or whatever those content mediums are. Are asks just too tumblr-specific? Is that aspect of the site culture dying out as more and more people converge to using all their social media sites in the same way?
it's probably from assholes making asks a minefield of trolling/harassment for years with no real blocking ability, which turned people off from allowing asks on their blogs so as a whole the site moved away from it
but now that we do have better blocking, we should try to revive it.
Remember the marriage mechanics in Stardew Valley? Yes?
So, imagine the farmer ends up marrying Red Robin but for some reason, Red Robin decides the marriage isn't working out. Some self-doubt on his part. You go to Lewis' house and file for a divorce.
It leaves both of you absolutely heartbroken.
You spend a lot of nights awake, wondering where you both went wrong. You, for one, still believe in the bond that you have created with Red Robin but he doubts himself too much.
What follows is months of pining and regret.
Then, you remember the witch's hut! You can make him forget! Red Robin would no longer remember that the two of you were married.
The two of you can start over!
Thus, you find yourself entering the witch's hut, walking straight towards the shrine at the back of the hut.
For a second, you waver. Is this the right thing to do? Are you allowed to use magic to temper with Red Robin's memories?
You shake off the sudden dread. This is the right thing. This needs to happen. You're certain. There's still love between the two of you. You just need one more chance!
You pray to the statue and you can feel the magic whirr around you before it rushes out of the hut to find its target: Your ex-husband Red Robin.
The same Red Robin that is now clueless about your previous marriage.

Red Robin was used to people nagging at him for not paying much attention to his health, especially when he is working on a case. He often forgets to eat full meals.
He never understood what the noise was all about until he met the farmer.
The farmer was the complete opposite of him.
He stayed at the cabin on the farm and got to experience the farmer's strange eating habits head on.
The farmer's day starts with drinking a triple shot espresso and gobbling down either hashbrowns or pepper poppers. Something something farming efficiency??
Red Robin could have sworn he saw the farmer eat hashbrowns for breakfast and later eat the pepper poppers while still in the fields. Where is all the food going???
How hungry was the farmer?
Around 2pm, the farmer drinks another coffee and slurps down trout soup before rushing down to the beach to catch a whole bunch of fish.
Red Robin, at some point, notices that the farmer carries some more trout soup for. . . fishing efficiency with them??
How? Where-?
This goes on until it's about 8pm.
Then the farmer chugs down a ginger ale and munches on a miner's treat while heading for the mines.
Red Robin isn't too sure what the farmer is doing in the mines exactly. But he knows that the farmer spends hours on the countless floors eating fried mushrooms to fight monsters better.
Why are there monsters in the mines-?
Red Robin can only hope that those are normal mushrooms and that the farmer isn't hallucinating.
It is somewhere around 2am when Linus or Harvey carry the farmer back to the cabin, passed out from exhaustion and Red Robin tucks the farmer in.
The green, dirty water of the sewers in stardew valley is actually an old lazarus pit. But to activate it, one needs to say an incantation as it hasn't been used in a very long while.

Jason: *walks into the manor*
Tim: *on the couch* hey Jason, howâs itâwait
Jason: *looks over at him* yeah?
Tim: is that a DOG
Jason: *clearly holding a puppy* no. Itâs an extraterrestrial eldrich being.
Tim: BRO
Jason: *walks into the kitchen, still acting like there is no dog*
Alfred: *raises brows* have you adopted a puppy, Master Jason? Unfortunately, there is a rule about animals in the kitchen. As you are aware.
Jason: she isnât an animal. Sheâs an extraterrestrial eldrich being.
Alfred: *stares down at the dog* she looks like a regular dog to me.
Jason: fine. Iâll take me and my baby outside.
Tim: baby???? He adopted a dog before a child???? I owe Steph ten bucks
*from outside*
Duke: WHAT IS THAT
Jason: a puppy
Duke: THAT IS CLEARLY NOT FROM EARTH
Tim:
Alfred:
You stepped out of you farm house and took a deep breath. You did not expect the day to go like this. How did it end up like this?! But worrying about it wouldnât lead you nowhere. What you had to focus on right now was to get food. Thus, you were headed for the saloon.
At the town however, Sam stopped you. âDid you find any more clues about the stranger? I really want to catch him. That would be rad!â
âNo. I didnât manage to find anything, unfortunately.â You lied and gave him a small apologetic smile. âBut he must be here somewhere. Maybe try again tomorrow?â
âAw, man!â Sam let out defeated but then he went about his day.
You let out a sigh of relief. Lying was not your strong foot. Although you had to lie a bunch of times to your superiors when you were still working at the Joja Corporation, you never enjoyed doing so. It left you nervous and sweaty-palmed.
But unfortunately for you, you had to lie some more as Maru was sitting on the bench next to the saloon. You hadnât really talked with her yet. But you knew from the others that she didnât spend much time outside of the hospital or her home. Of course, you had to be the one to stumble across her today!
âHey, Maru,â you greet her politely as you make eye contact. âItâs rare to see you here.â
âThis whole situation with the stranger has surprisingly made me feel a bit under the weather. Doctor Harvey suggested that I take a walk before my headache turns into anything serious.â
âOh. I hope youâll be fine soon then. But wouldnât the air in the mountains be much better than here in the valley?â You ask curiously. Itâs not that you didnât want Maru to be here but you felt another lie approaching. A lie spoken by you.
âIndeed. Mountain air is much more fresh and beneficial than the Valleyâs. At least it would be, if my brother would quit smoking. Every tree smells like ash to me. You can imagine that is no air to recover from a headache.â Maru gave a disapproving look at the thought of her brother smoking.
âYeah, that must suck.â You didnât really know what to say.
âBesides, my brother is adamant on finding the runaway. Even without his smoking, him and his friends are far too loud to enjoy a peaceful moment by the lake.â
âHave they still not given up? What do you think are our chances to catch the stranger?â You asked as if said stranger wasnât staying at your cabin right now.
Maru placed her forefinger against her cheek and thought about it. Her forehead wrinkled slightly. Then she looked at you again, eyes filled with excitement. âOur chances are quite high. There arenât that many places for him to hide in. The town is obviously a no go. Too many people. The beach doesnât really offer any hiding spots. The mountains would be viable if he knows how to catch fish. But where would he eat them without us finding the fire place? That leaves the forest and the farmâŚâ
You felt your blood run cold at the mention of your farm. You just had to ask the smart person where Tim might be hiding. âI think I would notice if a stranger was to lurk on my grounds. The fields are very visible.â You tried to deflect from your area and gave Maru a nervous smile. She wasnât onto you, was she?
âOh! Well in that case he must be hiding in the forest. It offers many different food sources and a lot of spots to hide⌠Perhaps we should send Sam and his group over there and they finally leave the mountain.â Maru sighed resigned. Seemed like she really missed her peace.
âRight. Yeah. We should totally send them there. Well, it was nice talking to you, Maru but I have to go.â She waved you off and you finally entered the saloon.
Gus was standing behind the counter, drying some glasses.
âWelcome!â His face lit up when you entered. At this hour he didnât really have customers, so you probably broke his boredom.
âHello, Gus. How is it going?â, you asked him politely while you looked at the menu.
âBusiness is as usual. At this hour boring but better when Pam and Clint are here. What brings you here today?â
âPizza. Iâm downright starvingâ, you declared and he laughed.
âBig worker needs to eat big too. I got you.â At your orders, he puts two pizzas into the oven. He turned around and a freshly baked baguette appeared. âYou can have this as well. Is on me.â
âReally? Iâll pay you back later then.â You offered.
âNonsense! I say itâs on me, itâs on me.â Gus insisted and basically threw the baguette at you. It was faintly warm in your hands and smelled fresh. You heard your stomach growl. âHaha! See, I know what a farmer needs. But be careful when you head back. I heard we have a man on the loose!â
âYou heard about it too? Yes, Iâll be careful. I actually spoke with Maru before I got here. We believe the stranger might be hiding in the forest.â You decided to take the opportunity to deflect from your farm some more. The saloon is usually a busy place and rumour spreads here quickly. If more people believe the forest is the place to go, youâll be fine for now.
âThe forest? How so?â Gus made a thoughtful expression.
âMaru came up with it mainly: The beach is too small to hide, the mountains can be dangerous, my farm is too assessable and the town is filled with too many people. That leaves the forest.â
âI see! That is very smart of Maru. The little inventor should tell Lewis about it⌠or Sam. The latter might be faster.â He snickered to himself.
âYeah, we definitely should.â Just on time your two pizzas were ready. âWell, Iâll be back soon. Thank you for the bread.â
âItâs a baguette you heathen. Be careful out there, farmer.â
âHehe, always.â You left the saloon with two pizza boxes and a baguette on top.
âOh, dear. You have quite the appetite there.â Evelyn stopped watering the tulips as she spotted you with all that food.
âYes, Iâve been working all day.â You said with a warm smile albeit lying.
âOh, then please enjoy your food.â Evelyn continued to water the tulips.
You made your way back to the farm and hoped that Tim was even still thereâŚ
++Ă++Ă++Ă++
âWhat took you so long?â Tim asked warily as he glanced at the food you were holding.
âMy social life doesnât stop just because you are here.â You said flatly. You didnât expect either to be held up by so many residents.
âHere, I bought pizza.â You wanted to place it on the table but you noticed that it was littered with mechanical parts. âWhat is that?â You looked at the pieces confusedly.
âYour TVâŚâ Tim pressed out.
âWhat?â You stared at Tim in disbelief then you turned to your TV. The display was facing the wall and the back was open, displaying the insides of your most expensive possession. âYouâre kidding! Tell me you are kiddingââ
But he wasnât. Tim took one of the pizza boxes, sat on your chair, opened the box and chomped down on one of the pizza slices nonchalantly. âI needed some parts of your TV. It should still work⌠more or less.â He reassured.
âWhat do you need these parts for?â You asked confusedly.
âI was trying to get in contact with my⌠family.â He spoke the word like he had never used it before. âBut somehow, my signal wonât get through.â
âYeah, weâre pretty isolated around here. The tunnel is also currently under maintenance and the bus broke down⌠Thatâs not good, is it?â
âHow are you people still alive?â Tim lifted a brow in confusion and concern.
âWell, we have a local store and the JojaMart. Willi is our fisher and I am a farmer. Technically we have everything here.â You grabbed the pizza box and sat on your bed. You only had one chair. Perhaps you should buy another one tomorrow.
âBut your farm is too tiny to sustain a whole town. Are they supposed to eat parsnips until they fall over?â Tim snickered at your offended expression.
âRunning a farm is not that easy and I am only just getting started! The farm could be a lot bigger if you hadnât caused such a ruckus.â Annoyed, you blew at your pizza as it was still hot.
âOh, so itâs my fault you only have five rows of vegetables?â Tim sneered.
âWhatever!â You decided to ignore him and his self-righteous grin. You took the pizza in your hands, threw it upwards and ate it in one big gulp. âWhew! That was tasty.â You said to yourself as you wiped your hands on a napkin. You noticed Tim staring at you: âWhat?â
âDid you justâ?â He looked on at you in disbelief and never finished his sentence.
âWhat is it? Say it?â You looked at him confusedly.
Tim eventually let out the breath he was holding and he shook his head with a small grin on his face. He never gave you an answer.
âMan, youâre freaking me out,â you mumbled to yourself as he finished his pizza.
