CHANGE IS IN THE AIR… WE NEED YOUR HELP! On August 19, the county zoning board, fueled by a few neighbors who think that OFSDS has grown too large for the neighborhood, gave us 60 days to move Sanctuary Dogs and operations.

The change will be positive. We are currently trying to work through a lease and also looking at other options that are more public than we are now. This will allow growth with the ability for more volunteers, supporters and potential forever families to visit. The time crunch, however, is not good and we will have to come up with a solution soon to avoid fines and legal penalties. We have promised our Old Friends that we will care for them for the rest of their lives and we will NEVER go back on that promise. 

We don’t often ask for donations, but moving will be expensive and now is a special time for us. If you are able to donate to our Moving Fund, no matter how much, please go to http://oldfriendsseniordogs.com/donate.html to donate by credit card, PayPal or check. 

Ultimately, this will be a GREAT move for OFSDS, we just have to get through this transitional stage. We will come out STRONGER and BETTER and in a position to help more Old Friends on the other side.

Due to complaints from neighbors, Old Friends Senior Dog Sanctuary are forced to move out from the home they’ve lovingly built for their for their old friends in 60 days, or risk legal penalties. 

The bad news is that every cent went to taking care of her, including whatever I had left. As I’d mentioned before, I was in between jobs. Still am (even though I’ve got my fingers crossed for an amazing job I’m interviewing for tomorrow). Which means I have absolutely no means to pay my rent this month. On September 1st I either have $500 for rent or I’m getting evicted. I’ve done everything I can to get an extension, but they’re not budging. I have nowhere to go if I can’t pay, so obviously I’m stressing hard right now.

So my goal is $500 by next week. I’m offering art commissions, tattoo designs, and whatever else in order to earn it. If anyone is interested, please contact me and I’ll be happy to talk about prices and give you art examples. This is dire, guys. I can’t make that clear enough. If I don’t raise the money I have no other options. And I’ll be completely honest; the thought of being homeless fucking terrifies me.
