Depending on what happened to Eleanor’s clone I believe would determine Augusts and Entity August relationship between each other, but part of me at least believes that August would begin to understand that ugly side of his as he’s terrorized by himself once more. The isolation and strangeness of the Backrooms doesn’t exactly help his sanity.

If the protagonist you head cannon is as insane as you say and truly loved August. Even in his worst moments, August would not want to kill you to repeat what happened. I’d like to think he’d protect her from Entity August in the beginning, until he notices his shadow side has become a lot more docile.

It is… like his shadow, never really goes away. In fact, it hovers around the corner whenever he finds himself having a happy moment with the protagonist. It kinda just stares and twitches in places, but smiles if it’s noticed. Once you see him, it’s impossible not to notice him. Observing his shadow could also reveal his human August current temperament and unsaid thoughts.

I’d like to imagine if human August ever leaves the Backrooms, food, water, he’s mapped out the locations and left. Entity August would be the one to look after the protagonist, and doesn’t allow them to leave this place. It’ll have his way if things, which usually involves some sort of pain. It’s very sensitive the mood flips are a lot more intense, especially when human August is able to locate it and walks in on a private moment. They’d likely have some unsaid rules about sharing, human August would find it relieving when she treats Entity August with as much love as he does. In some moments, she’d likely take both of them on when it comes to physical intimacy. Either when August is very emotional and just needs reassurance, and that reflects to his shadow. He just needs to hold her twice over. The player will never have a moment where they’re ever alone again.

I’d also imagine Entity August protecting the player if she found other creatures within the level. I’d there’s any still life of another person, he’d shoot it even before she got to glance at it. Touring the backrooms is fine, leaving is not. The protagonist could theoretically get lost and human August can’t locate them, but Entity August would be particularly fond of bringing them back immediately (leading to human August’s intense frustration and anxiety) if the protagonist chooses to explore anyway.

Now the entity version of the player would exist somewhere, but I’d imagine it wouldn’t phase Entity August as he’d recognize it to not be his. We don’t know much about the protagonist to determine how may her clone behave and perceive things. It’d just kinda be there.

I love the idea of entity August being way more violent and moody than human August because he's like, everything negative in August combined into one. I love the idea of him facing his violent unpleasant self in that way.

and getting intimate with both of them??? sorry I'm so. distracted by the thought. can you imagine if human August could *feel* if his lover and his entity self were getting it on?? I need him to get soo riled up from that ANYWAY

Other idea is August lives in the Backrooms and pulls a Clark finding a scuffed copy of his wife and desperately trying to make amends cause she’s somewhat active around human August. The shadow version of him exists, unsure if August has internalized hatred for himself that may result in his double trying to kill him or “train him”, or kill human August out of jealousy for douching Eleanor’s double.

I’m thinking Backrooms Eleanor would likely flinch whenever August’s double is around the corner but not to human August. Maybe August ends up destroying the clone at some point due to his own instability and the strangness of the backrooms. Or it’s conflict between the shadow version.

When the protagonist comes in, and develops a relationship with human August. It could pacify Entity August, but now they have to deal both.

Backrooms though, even before the movie and all, August being an entity would fit. I’d imagine instead of being reanimated by Playmate (if that’s even in lore anymore) the Backrooms just does it. If it weren’t for the shadow effect he got, Entity August probably would look really botched.

Protagonist suddenly finds themselves lost in the backrooms in a level that resembles the hospice pursued by August again.

OH the pain of all the ideas in the world and less time for to write! At least by the time I even get to it, the mods gonna be updated for more juicy lore.

my initial idea behind that drawing was that the entity August is the "misremembered" version of himself, the title for the artwork is also meant to reflect on that, "fight the nightmares from the past" as it's described on the mod page. I think the backrooms is a very hauntingly suitable place for him too rather than your typical minecraft setting

something about the backrooms being the recollection of everything that ever exists in its own uncanny way and the man from the shadow being an entity from our past relationship that's haunting us feels very fitting together

I really love your writings and headcanons about August. And I felt compelled to tell you about this headcanon I recently had about him. I've never seen anyone talk about it, so I hope that I worded this properly and you can at least understand where I am coming from with this. Along with the oc yapping… ᴵ ˡᵒᵛᵉ ᵐʸ ᵗᵒˣⁱᶜ ʳᵉˡᵃᵗⁱᵒⁿˢʰⁱᵖˢ ᵃⁿᵈ ᵗʰᵉ ᵗᵒˣⁱᶜ ᵒˡᵈ ᵐᵃⁿ ʸᵃᵒⁱ. ᵀʰᵃⁿᵏ ʸᵒᵘ, ᵖˡᵉᵃˢᵉ.

I ship him with my male oc, but there was a thought that came to mind about him having internalized homophobia or having conflicting feelings for my oc, referring to his lore from the time period he lived in, the stigma, and the type of men he was around. In my own brief story, my oc is a doctor who is August's assigned GP, and it takes place during the abandoned hospice section of the lore (for personal reasons, I didn't stick with the news reporter part). I'd like to believe that when he meets a man or someone who has the same elegance or soft and gentle vibe and feeling as Eleanor, he will be reminded of her. And because August is psychically unstable, I would also think he would be fighting himself with these conflicting feelings because of specifically his father's "teachings," all the while the longing he has been yearning for so long is eating him alive. He would eventually succumb to it, and the outcome wouldn't be pretty.

This is all I have, unfortunately, but I would love to hear what you think.

Hello dearest anon, sorry I was meaning to answer this much earlier but I got sidetracked. I totally agree! This is something I've discussed with other friends of mine who also ship him with their male ocs a few times. I think it's a really interesting topic in his case specifically.

I totally also see him being in total internal conflict because of his feelings, and due to him being born in that time and in that place he's just . not gonna be too open or accepting towards that. I'd imagine August's idea of love and family is a very traditional one due to his childhood and his own family and toxic masculinity, yada yada. But he also yearns to love and to be loved, deeply so. That factor would eventually lead him to understand that what he wants isn't the idea of love, but for someone to genuinely love him, and it wouldn't matter who it's coming from because true love is love and that's all he could ever ask for!
