Sivananda sequence has become one of my favorite practices lately. It says if practiced slowly, each posture becomes a meditation. If practiced at a faster pace it builds strength, balance, and flexibility. Each asana either augments or counterbalances the preceding one. . A Sivananda practice also includes pranayama, opening and closing relaxations. The intention of this practice is to cultivate a meditative mental state called a ‘sadhana’, or self-study, that evolves into a focused ritual to awaken awareness of Self and sacred Presence. The sequence can be condensed into a 30-minute maintenance routine, or 3 hours for a deep dive into pranayama and each posture. . I tried it both ways. Depending on my mood, I’m super energetic practicing fast and sometimes I’m very chill practicing at a slower pace. So far, this way is my favorite. . I wanted to share this with you, and to invite you to cover your eyes while practicing. One of my teachers at @aym once said, “when you practice, be aware of what you’re doing. Feel the pose, be the pose, and try practicing with the eyes closed.” . These past few months I’ve tried practicing with eyes closed, but still you always wanna open it. You feel naked without your sight. So I started using bandana and it’s a good feeling practicing with the eyes closed because it’s really connecting with the source. . I sometimes feel like detaching myself from everything.. any personality, any title, anything. . My personal practice goes sometimes for 2 hours without even noticing. I’m not counting how long I’m staying in a pose because I do not have “rules“. I just go for it. . At first I wanted to record myself just to see myself how I look like in a pose and how I move trying to adjust my alignment. I decided to share it with you, to invite you to do your practice, If you’re not doing it yet, try it at least once in while with the eyes covered because you see beautiful things.
. However in this video, my inner self, knew that there is an outsider there 😊( the camera.) I wasn’t so connected the way I usually am, but I decided to share it with you anyway. When you practice, just simply ‘be’. Connect with your true self. (at Manila, Philippines) https://www.instagram.com/p/CB2GP5rlWEH/?igshid=fhh4wawscx8r
