If your country has even gone through a natural disaster, chances are the Topos were there to help.
Since they formed after the 1985 earthquake, these volunteers have traveled all over the world as a professional search and rescue brigade. Like Superheroes, they go where they're needed. Just to give you a few examples, they were in New York in 2001, in Indonesia in 2004, in Haiti in 2010, in Japan 2011, in Turkey in 2023, and in Spain in 2024. If you take a look at the uniform of Hector Méndez, the leader of the Topos, you'll see that he carries some of the flags of the countries they've helped.
Right now, they're in Venezuela‼️‼️ 🇻🇪🇻🇪🇻🇪
They're there to help as much as they can with the rescue efforts after the terrible 7.5 and 7.2 earthquakes. They work with what they have, without any help from any government, and getting by with donations and with the help of the good people who offer them food and shelter.
I've asked the venezuelan friends and neighbors close to me, and they've told me that right now one of the safest options to help is to donate to the Topos, since there aren't many trustworthy organizations that ensure that the help is indeed arriving to the people affected by this tragedy.
You can donate directly to the Topos here!!
Please consider making a donation. You can follow the Topos on their official social media accounts to verify any information and see a bit of what they do.
If anyone knows of any other safe way to donate to Venezuela, please let me know.
