Explores the relationship between the brothers so amazinglywell – the push and pull of power-play, and love. Hot, and such wonderfulexploration of the characters and what they are to each other. Ties in nicelywith canon.

Asteroidea seriesby etothepii (Stochastical) – 3 part series crossover with His Dark Materials(Golden Compass) universe. Mycroft and Sherlock are unusual in world where allhumans have daemons. When John and his dog daemon, Kali, move in with hisbrother Sherlock, they are very confused at his missing daemon. Eventually Johncomes to realize the Holmes brothers’ secret. Both weird and sweet.

Dulce et Decorum estPro Fratre Vivere by thequeergiraffe, 15 k, mature. This is a wonderfulback story on the Holmes boys from Mycroft’s POV. Slips around behind canon andgave great predictions for series 3 – many of which proved to be true. There isattraction but no action on the Holmescest. So well written.

Cake and Other Sins by Indybaggins, 100 k, explicit.Really interesting OT3 between John, Sherlock and Mycroft. An AU with the GreatBritish Bake-Off. John and Sherlock meet when they are both competing in a tvbaking competition. Mycroft remains a presence in Sherlock’s life watching andprotecting him. Flashbacks and events unfold of the complicated relationshipSherlock and Mycroft have had for years. Sex, love, food, and regret are allmixed together in this well-written, sexy, fascinating tale.

Based on bbckinkmeme prompt: “However much the both of themmight want it, Mycroft is very resistant to doing anything sexual with Sherlockuntil Sherlock discovers that Mycroft would be perfectly willing to ________,because it doesn’t count.” This is a 5 +1, but actually is more like a1+5… a prequel with five different outcomes, all involving different“doesn’t count” scenarios. Yeah. Right.

Westermarck, Refutedby etothepii (Stochastical), 4 k words, explicit.  Sherlock crawling into Mycroft’s bed forcing asexual relationship that’s been brewing for years. Bit of a dalliance untilmummy finds out.

Armistice by entanglednow, 3 k, explicit. OT3 –John/Sherlock/Mycroft. John feels like a foreign country that Sherlock andMycroft are fighting over. Nice little PWP – very hot three-way.

It turns out that Sherlock is not the Betaeveryone thought, but a late-blooming omega. Hot and very consensual. No angstor dubcon here. The brothers help each other out.

The Physics ofPresent Tense by paxlux. 36k, mature. This is a long sweeping epic of astory that details the Holmes brothers from their very beginning and onthroughout their lives. Almost a prose poem, this fic follows Mycroft’s lonelychildhood, and his protective intense bonds with his younger brother. The wholerelationship is a beautiful, twisted tapestry and while others eventually jointheir little circle the brothers remain as always in orbit around each other.Thumbs up – this was amazing.
