It seemed appropriate
people that are dorks but also sexually attractive need to either stay away from me or get very very close to me
Finally got all the Bionicle location posters up š so glad I finally got around to framing and hanging them.

I do counted cross stitch, so I think that this building in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania is amazing.Ā The creatorās name is Raquel Rodrigo, an artist, and designer from Valencia, Spain.
It looks like graffiti from a distance, but close up, you can see that itās actually a cross-stitch pattern affixed to this Philadelphia Naval Yard property building.
Take a look at the detail here. It mustāve taken such a long time to achieve this stunning final effect. She covered it with wire mesh like a giant cross stitch canvas.
What a brilliant idea.Ā
According to the artist, she wanted to bring feminine art that has dressed homes around the world to the street. However, her idea was to use a cross-stitch pattern to do so instead of graffiti.
She now travels around the world, beautifying buildings and making various street art.
She prepares her detailed designs in advance.Ā Then she unrolls them at the chosen location.Ā Her desire is to bring a dash of color and creativity to the surrounding area. I wonder how long it holds up in the weather. I canāt even see where they attached the mesh. So pretty.

So I found the letter that the Animorphs author and trans ally K. A. Applegate wrote after the series ended and Iām FLOORED
I mean
You want something even crazier? Animorphs ended in May 2001.Ā She didnāt know what was coming, but damn if she didnāt give her readers a much needed dose of reality about the horrors of war right before we were really going to need it.
If you enjoy easily-digestible sci fi, and can get your hands on the animorphs books, I really recommend it. Theyāre fucking great and thoughtful in a lot of ways you might not have picked up on as a kid. Iāve read the first dozen or so books over the last couple of years and theyāve literally changed the way I look at the world.
Not to butt in since the series came along when I was in high school and thus a bit after my time, but I am a librarian and as such I am ALL ABOUT matching people to the books they need in whatever format is available.. You can download the entire series. Itās free.
Applegateās statement on the piracy subject is quoted from an AMA here for those that have moral issues with it. for those that donāt want to click, she says: āWe do not take them down. Or ask for them to be taken down. I think once the books are available to buyāpaper or eāit would be nice if people who could afford it would buy. (our kids have very expensive tastes. You know: food and whatnot.) But for years theyāve been unavailable except by āpiratedā means. These men and women kept the series alive. They kept the books available. So no, we did NOT take these books down.ā
Go forth, and read.
Oh hey. The Animorphs books just keep getting more and more relevant to our present circumstances:
Why Animorphs is Frighteningly Relevant in Contemporary Trumpian AmericaĀ
i was obsessed with this series as a child, i think iāll reread them.
There are now gorgeously illustrated graphic novels available, the second coming out in October: Animorphs Graphix https://g.co/kgs/1AGmjV
Super Dad
Conclusion: human evolution has always depended in part upon some unassuming fatherās ability to literally backflip his child out of the jaws of death.
this video is wild
What gets me is the completely standard SAME SHIT DIFFERENT DAY reactions deal.
I last second yoinked my friend's five-year-old out of the way of an oncoming Chevy lift-kit of dumbassery at my sister's wedding and the reactions from my parents, my sister, the manslaughterer-to-be, and the kid's mom were just like "Huh!" *nod of approval* *back to business*.
Watch everyone else's faces in those videos, it's just like "Wow! Yep, dad stuff. Anyways Marguerite about this incoming van -"
I did get a "Oh, thanks for saving my kid from certain death" later so that was nice.

After drawing that Tahu, I was asked where the rest of the Toa where
Many months later, I have this
the best part of this picture, is this all those plants are there to disguise the extra floor built without permits, and the dude got away with it for like a decade.

what's the word for monogamous but only really living when you can sexually frustrate every person you meet
ā¦I just woke up from a dream in which there was an app that notified you when nearby LARPs needed an NPC, and you could, like, go pretend to be a surly shopkeeper or whatever and get paid, like, $10 for it.
damn now i want this to be an actual thing.
