PSA for readers of my I Can See You series
While working through chapter 10, I've started fleshing out some plot points and dialogue for future chapters and now that I have most of the series clearly laid out before me, I just want to make sure that anyone coming on this journey with me is clear that this story will not be fluffy the whole way through, and it won't have a "they lived happily ever after!"/"their relationship is absolutely perfect!" type of ending.
We're talking about Kendall Roy here so let's be real - he's got issues. Even if he's deeply in love, he still has some serious shit to work through so it's inevitable that he's gonna act like an asshole and hurt the reader somewhere along the way. It's just who he is. One of the main reasons I'm so fascinated by Kendall and enjoy writing him so much is because of how deeply flawed but still sympathetic he is (and also that I find him attractive lol). If I want the version of Kendall in my series to stay loyal to the tv show version (which I do), then he's gonna have to fuck up somehow, and he's gonna have to be a bit of a dick when he does it.
That being said, I will not end the series with a Succession finale ending that (***SUCCESSION SPOILER***) leaves you numb and with a billion questions. I also won't ever have him do or say anything that would be unforgivable - we're just talking his avoidant attachment style and emotional unavailability. The journey won't be all for nothing and I'm planning for the final chapter to conclude the larger story while still leaving the opportunity for me to come back and write some extra one-shots if I want to.
TL;DR if you aren't down for the angst/hurt portion of the story or if knowing that the ending is not 1000% happy means you need to jump ship, that's more than understandable and you can let me know if you want to be removed from the tag list :)
