Today's fanfiction fanart is another piece for Ever Upward, specifically part 9, 'these far-flung futures.'

Stranglerfig has really made the sweetest most wholesome thing out of this series and it legitimately makes me smile the whole time whenever I read it.

My cheeks hurt.

I greatly recommend it to people looking for Potter fics with queer themes, found family, anti-establishment, non-human worldbuilding, and just so many good vibes.

Snakeheart and Araeo are just... I love them so much.

There is this wonderful Harry Potter fic called Ever Upward. It’s by Stranglerfig on Ao3. It’s a series that involves queer themes, found family, and non-human worldbuilding and does it so well; the merfolk winter festival, Iceglow, is great and I love it.

The gist of it is that pre-Hogwarts Harry runs away from home, finds himself under the care of the basilisk, and lives in the Chamber with the occupants of the castle proper completely unaware. While living there he spends a lot of time in and out of the forest just being a general good vibes dispenser and befriending everyone he can, it seems.

I feel happy with the way I did the grass in this drawing but I’m less sure about the water. Hope that looks okay.
