While on topic can I just say how weird I find it that Jax fans have the tendency to treat him like, the most complex character in all of fiction that only a select few have the privilege of understanding. And I get it's a byproduct of 'baby's first fandom', God knows when I was first being exposed to characters beyond Saturday morning cartoon level I thought they were the most deep, interesting characters to ever grace the human psyche. It's not like I think Jax's writing is irredeemable or anything but 'asshole with attachment issues due to losing people in his past' is hardly the most unique concept ever. And again, it's not like I think Jax doesn't have any substance or nuance to him, it just irks me whenever his fans respond to pretty reasonable criticism of his character or writing with 'well he's complex'. No shit? Just because I acknowledge he isn't Satan reincarnate doesn't mean I can't take issue with his treatment by both the narrative and other characters, or God forbid not worship at his feet.
