do you guys think if hannibal hadn’t stabbed will in mizumono will would’ve eventually went looking for him in europe and not try to stab him back and they wouldn’t have tried to kill each other
No, actually. I think that if Hannibal hadn’t stabbed Will there, he would’ve just done it later. Their entire dynamic is based on violence being coorelated with attraction and love. Will tries to kill Hannibal because he hates what he brings out in him, the blood lust and the enjoyment he feels from murder. He doesn’t want to love Hannibal, he’s a cannibalistic serial killer for fucks sake, and yet he can’t live without him. Hannibal stabbing Will was out of pain of his betrayal. He opened up to someone, he let Will see behind his person suit and was betrayed for it. What Hannibal wants is all of Will. He wants everything Will can give him and more. With that betrayal, the only way Hannibal could possibly trust him ever again would be if he came to find him even after he stabbed him, which is why he went exactly where he knew Will would look for him.
Also I bet Hannibal knew that Will was going to try to kill him in Europe, and honestly I wouldn’t have been surprised if he had let him. It was a race to who could get to it first. Hannibal had literally everything he could’ve possibly wanted in Florence, but he still wanted Will. Their love for each other is inconvenient, and so they did the only thing that would be enough to break their bond, the kill the other. Violence is so important in this show, especially between Will and Hannibal, and I don’t think either of them could live without it.
