To believe this is the first post I’m about to make, I’m going to go ahead and say it...I actually really like North and I know I may not be the only one who does It’s just that with the amount of hate this character is receiving it might be hard to believe that someone might actually like her. I am in no way, shape or form saying that you can’t hate this character you are free to hate what you want. I am probably going to get a lot of hate by saying this, I actually like North more than Simon, don’t get me wrong I love Simon but I would have liked to know more about him and his reason for coming to Jericho.

Now back to the main topic which is North, I actually understand her reason for wanting to be violent against humans, though most of the times there are situations where violence isn’t needed but North still feels the need to ACT/BE violent and most of the times it is not justifiable.

NORTH’S PERSONALITY:

Now it’s very obvious North has a huge distaste/dislike/hate etc for humans and this has to do with her backstory you see North was or is what you call a sex bot a robot or in this case an android who’s sole purpose is for sex and sex alone.

North was rented by a client one day and she suddenly realized she couldn’t take the way her lifestyle was anymore and decided to strangle her client to death and ran away, she made her way to Jericho after this.

North’s hatred for humans is most likely due to the fact that she was a sex slave for the humans she was seen as nothing more than that and North couldn’t take that. 

Now you are probably wondering “well the actions of this ONE human shouldn’t determine the actions of all humans” and I highly agree with you except that there weren’t many lovable humans in Detroit or let me phrase that better there weren’t a lot of humans who were actually trying to help androids or treated them as equals, the only people I can think about that actually cared for androids were Hank, Carl, Rose and her son Adam and even with that Hank initially did not like androids at all and Adam still seemed a little hostile about androids which is justifiable because he was worried that his mother (Rose) would have been caught. In Detroit Become Human we are always hearing of how humans abuse their androids physically or verbally, they treat androids as if they were phones out with the old and in with the new as seen with Daniel in the first chapter of the game, I think that is what mostly contributes to North’s violent behavior, I mean how can you convince me that not all humans are bad when all we hear about them in the game is the way they abuse and mistreat their androids?

Another thing people say about North is that she is emotionless: 

I really can’t agree with this statement I mean yes she hates humans but she definitely isn’t emotionless as far as I know. North is fighting for a cause and that is to free all androids and rise up against humans, North is physically distressed and in tears when those two police officers ( Chris and his partner) kill various androids that were protesting.

North really cares about the freedom of her people, she really cares for androids and I wouldn’t call her emotionless for that.

Another thing is that Ralph and Carlo’s androids are physically affected and mentally hurt by the way humans treated them and North isn’t:

Another statement I can’t find my self agreeing with hear me out first, North is aggressive, head strong and violent but that doesn’t mean she wasn’t affected by her past life, North seems like the type of person to bottle up and hide her emotions, there is a scene that I remember in Detroit where if you were spotted by a police drone (I think it was a police drone) you could kiss North as a distraction by doing this it might have probably triggered past memories as a sex bot at Eden Club, it is clear that North feels uncomfortable and warns Markus not to do it again.

I mean if I were in North’s shoes I’d feel pretty uncomfortable and angry if i was suddenly pushed against a wall and kissed without my consent, another scene is when her and Markus are alone on a roof and the player is given the choice to ask about North’s past, North believed she was nothing just a doll used to satisfy humans, North breaks down and starts to cry when she tells Markus her backstory whether it’s out of shame or how she tried so hard to suppress the memory I’m not really sure.
