That One Introvert on the Internet

The repugnant odor of smoke and charred Earth permeated Marshall’s lungs as he stared on at the exponentially growing conflagration before him, almost as if hypnotized by the deathly red-orange glow that encompassed what had once been a flourishing forest, now reduced to nothing but ash and scorched soil.

He could almost whistle appreciatively at it, impressed with the wildfire’s sheer size and speed at which it consumed the trees and other greenery that dared to oppose its wrath. All the animals that once inhabited the decaying forest had been promptly relocated to another one thanks to the PAW Patrol’s efforts, and all that was left to do now was contain the flames that threatened to burn down more forests should they fail to extinguish it properly in time.

He hadn’t dealt with a fire this big in forever. His paws tingled with a thrilling excitement, a bark just lingering at the back of his throat ready to summon his water cannons, his tail wagging at a remarkable pace. Finally, finally, he could live up to his firefighter title once more.

The Dalmatian released a commanding bark, his water cannons whirring to life behind him. He smirked confidently. With the help of the PAW Patrol, he knew this wildfire would be put out before it could truly go out of control. There was really nothing to worry about, not even in the wasteland of ash and smog that would be the inevitable aftermath, a seemingly inhospitable climate.

Water launched powerfully from gleaming red cannons. “I’m fired up!”

Marshall wasn’t worried about the future of the forest, far from it. He knew that eventually the grass would return, the trees would grow anew and the wildlife would continue to thrive in the emergence of a brand new forest.
