also no frerard au where they're too happy and healthy and good to each other is really believable to me as versions of frank and gerard. miserable together in every life. #truelove

uhv is fine but I would love to see a similarly long priest gerard fic that's like. actually about him being a priest and what it means for him to have dedicated his life to an abusive, conservative institution. gay priest romance would be way more compelling to me if he actually took his vows seriously and being a catholic protest with all that entails was actually part of his identity and not just a costume he puts on over his progressive protestant real self. basically I don't like "priest gerard" as set dressing but I would like to read it as an actual story that takes its premise seriously
