I wish people understood Tim Drake as more than just “sleep deprived coffee addict cinnamon bun.” He is such a deep and complex character when you actually look into who he is. Yea he’s missing a spleen, but he’s also, a fighter, a genius, Robin by choice, obsessed with his best friend, founder of atleast one team, kinda insane, a nepo baby twice, the worlds youngest ceo, and possibly a better detective than Batman. You also get the other side of mischaracterization which paints him out to be the “obedient” Robin, which makes him lame apparently. But no, sure he follows Batman’s rules, he idolized the guy for his whole life basically. That and he cherished the role of Robin a lot. Despite that, he lies and disobeys Batman constantly. He isn’t boring, he’s just older than the other two when they started and therefore more mature. He didn’t want to lose the Robin mantel by being too stupid in the field. But bro goes off and does dumb shit all the time, he fucking went after two face WITH NO TRAINING, he just put on the suit and went after Batman and Dick. And the whole Joker Jr. thing?? Don’t even get me started on him as Red Robin, that’s a whole different post.

Bernard and Tim both being little creeps is so important to me. They match each others freak in ways I fear many wouldn’t. They both were obsessed Robin and Batman, they can bond over being weird, but Bernard is a conspiracy theory creep and Tim is a stalker creep and I love them both.

The Cat King is such a good “villain”. He isn’t traditionally evil, but to Edwin he is evil and predatory. We aren’t supposed to like him until the end. He is everything Edwin needs in a villain. The Cat King isn’t ashamed to be queer, different, sexual, everything that Edwin wishes he were not. He represents what his parents and society told him was evil. Being like the Cat King is what got Edwin murdered. Despite being so evil we grow to see him and Edwin kind of bond, especially after Edwin confesses. Accepting the Cat King as a tentative ally shows that Edwin has accepted his queerness as well. This show is chock full of metaphors for being queer and I love it.

Duke is so interesting to me bc he’s the only member of the member of the unofficial/offcial(?) Batfam who has metapowers. He is rarely seen using them as far as I’ve read, but I haven’t consumed much media with him in it. I want to explore his character more, if any1 has suggestions lemme know :))

I was trying to enjoy season 3 of young justice, but of course I had to have Dickbabs shoved in my face. Like seriously, THEY DID NOT HAVE TO KISS FOR 30 WHOLE SECONDS. I will never submit to the Dick/Barbara agenda. I love them both as characters, but as lovers? Fuck no.

They really had me thinking that Impulse had a big gay crush on Jaime/Blue Beetle, but nOoOoOo. LAME
