Damn I checked the date and it was 6/23 and I was so sad because I thought pride month was almost over. Then I looked again like hours later and I realized I'm stupid and it was just 6:23 pm, not 6/23/2026. I feel like I've been given a second chance at June. I cannot squander it. I never want to feel that way again.
This might be a hot take but you absolutely need to learn the difference between someone who knowingly undermines and dismisses someone's boundaries, and someone who misinterprets where those boundaries are. These are not the same thing and treating them as equal is a disservice to your neurodivergent peers.
I have met a lot of autistic people who have said and done stuff that has made me uncomfortable. What I do about it is directly tell them what they did wrong and not to do it again because I don't like it. 99% of the time, it never happens again. Because the original action wasn't done out of disregard for my boundaries and autonomy, but due to obliviousness.
Being autistic doesn't make people turn into sexual harassers but it does make people more likely to miss, misinterpret, and misjudge more subtle social cues. Which can lead to behavior that bothers people and needs to be corrected.
Yes, if you're socially inept, and you're aware of that, you should be taking extra care to make sure you aren't doing something that makes someone uncomfortable. That doesn't diminish the importance of actually directly establishing when something is upsetting you, because it's not inherently obvious to everyone.
TL;DR, there's a difference between a guy who doesn't care about your discomfort and an autistic person who's really bad at flirting.
The Germans really cooked making "Hobbyless behaviour" an insult. It is both devastating, applicable to a wide range of people and behaviours, and doesn't resort to swearing.
Man ranting on the internet about the Superbowl halftime show or complaining that something is "woke"? Hobbyless Behaviour. Girls mocking another girl for not looking right? Hobbyless Behaviour. Mindless vandalism? Hobbyless Behaviour.
It is more powerful than "get a life" or the English "You're Sad" because it gets to the central point of the matter, and that is wonderful. Danke, Deutsch.
As a German I never really thought about it beeing specifically german but now that I think about it I havent really heard it outside of german context ever... but yeah it is simply a "this what u do with your life? Damn..." kinda thing...
Unfortunately it is also used towards people that actually HAVE a hobby but one that is unconventional or seems nonsensical to them.
I got called "Hobbylos" for Cosplaying... which is insane because my cosplaying requires different forms of arts and hobbies... I tailor and sew, I draw and design, I style wigs, I craft and paint, Makeup is a big part of it too... lastly if you are taking pixtures its basically hobby modeling too... that is infact the MOST hobby type of hobby I know about since it is a whole conjunction of hobbies... but Hobbyless is an insult after all in that case so it was meant to hurt rather than meant to make sense...
Its just funny because those people who called me Hobbyless for beeing a cosplayer are the ones who couldnt tell me what they do in their freetime because they neither have a special interest nor any specific passion... "Joa Idk I just kinda exist" type shi...
I also think it may be doomed to devolve into another variation of "basic"/"have no life"/"friendless behavior"/"you make X your entire personality"
Plus having no hobbies could be cause you're depressed or lack confidence or just haven't found what you like yet. It's not a
And I really don't think lack of hobbies is the heart of why bullies and bigots are the way that they are. I think mostly they're just selfish and entitled and severely underestimate how much they don't know so they lack curiosity. None of that makes a quippy insult but maybe that's okay?
Isn’t it kind of fun how when your life sucks you just can’t talk about it with anyone
I’m serious though. When your life reaches a degree of suckage, you find yourself having to look elsewhere for anything at all to talk about. The things going on in your life are trauma dumping. Your past is probably also trauma dumping. So you have to get really weird about specific things or hope that others want to talk to you, because very quickly people are going to develop an aversion to you and the way your life sucks. Unless you just don’t talk about it
It’s socially isolating, which is dangerous—when you’re in this sort of situation, community is the difference between life and death, housing and homelessness.
I think the collective prioritization of comfort first is hurting people in a real and material sense
Yep, cause nobody wants to feel guilty for not helping you, but you're not asking for help. But by knowing about it and knowing they could help you, they feel guilty and resent you for "putting them in that situation," which you must've done on purpose to get attention or pity or something cause why else would someone talk about their problems??

kids deserve so much more respect and it turns out that saying that is a great way to locate the horrible people in any community <3
you'll say something as simple as "no child deserves to be hit" and people will crawl out of the woodwork to explain why they should be allowed to beat a 6 year old for spilling some water
you'll say "i think it's weird that adults literally have control over when children are allowed to use the bathroom" and up pops a teacher to say that when they're not shouting at the kids they teach, they're trying to stop them from hiding in the bathrooms
you'll say "i think children shouldn't be forced to eat food they hate" and here comes someone who feeds their kids plain rice and boiled chicken (while eating a nicely seasoned stirfry) claiming that it's okay actually and kids shouldn't be allowed to taste things
you'll say "i think kids should have bodily autonomy" and in comes someone who pierced their babies ears before it was even 24 hours old, frothing at the mouth because their kid wanted a haircut and thats somehow an insult
children are an oppressed class and everyone should be looking back at their own childhoods and making sure they don't ever make a child feel the same way they felt.
This society is so fucked up. Like literally you're born and everyone is super nice to you for about 1.5 years and then you develop a personality and everyone fucking hates you for it (especially adults) and you're not allowed to be upset about any of it or your ungrateful, childish, dramatic, a brat, or whatever
The whole time you're told that adulthood is just stress and misery and you should enjoy your childhood while you still have it and you're trying but you're being put down, shamed, controlled, and dehumanized so much, you can't help but long for a time when you'll be treated better.
Then you turn like 10 and you're already expected to start acting like an adult. You lose your free time. You lose your imagination. Any praise you used to receive is replaced by 10x as much criticism, and you start to wonder if the only thing anyone's ever liked about you was that you used to be cute.
Then you become a teenager and there's nothing society hates more than teenagers, esp teenage girls, so of course the abuse ramps up. You already feel like you're drowning but adulthood hasn't even started yet. Suddenly every second of your time is expected to be used "responsibly." You stop doing anything fun because you're always "behind" in some way
Then you turn 18 and the very people who utterly destroyed the economy you have to inherit expect you to just move out, get married, and start working (and ideally having kids) instantly, and when you fail, all the blame is put on you.
We never stood a chance. We were born to be human punching bags and then a cog in the misery machine. It's genuinely bizarre how people view children. It's like they see the light in their eyes and want to stamp it out out of jealousy. It's so clear to me in retrospect how wrong it all was but I didn't trust my own judgement enough to acknowledge it at the time. Then they turn around and attack trans people while claiming to "protect the children."
reblog this and put in the tags something you watched that terrified you as a child. i was so scared of the hot sauce in spongebob that i refused to be in the room when it was on
My state is ruby red. Last week, I put up a Harris-Walz sign in my front yard up close to the porch. Every couple days, as I got braver, I moved it a few feet closer to the street where the visibility is better. Two days ago, my sign achieved its curbside position with maximum visibility.
Yesterday, I was out digging in my front yard (I'm rewilding my lawn) and a truck pulled over. A 62-year-old woman gets out, thanks me for my sign, and admits how scared she is to put up her own Democratic lawn sign. She's a registered Republican who hasn't voted for Republicans in more than a decade. We talked for half an hour and I just texted her about the VP Debate watch party this Tuesday.
Things learned:
Not all registered Republicans are actually Republicans.
Boomers and Gen X age voters are changing their minds.
Having a yard sign makes a difference.
Even ruby red states are more purple than you might think.
In my state, the republican primaries are closed, but the democrat primaries are open, so if you're "undecided," you can't vote in the republican primaries. You're only option is to vote in the democratic primaries. I know people who are registered as republican, because it's the only choice that won't limit your options. They also strategically place voting booths to prevent college students and low-income people from voting, so I firmly believe there are more left-wing people here than are represented in elections.
Left: I think everyone deserves the basic things they need to stay alive and healthy
Right: If you think you're too good to be degraded by authority figures, berated by customers, made to clean up strangers' vomit and shit and other bodily fluids, subjected to unbearable or dangerous conditions, intimidated out of saying anything you think or feel, or a combination of the above for like 8.25/hour - or if you just don't want to give up 35% of your waking hours to a job you don't want, you deserve to live on the streets, begging for food, water, and protection from the elements from people who think of you as vermin and constantly fleeing a publically-funded team of conservatives who are immune to consequences and armed with guns, and you should be grateful for any help you receive because you haven't earned any of it
Center: People who don't work deserve most of their basic needs met but unfortunately if we help them, they might not work and then billionaires will have to raise their wages and improve working conditions, and they can't afford that!
Socialism just doesn’t work and to show you just how much it doesn’t work, we have placed undue economic stress on the countries practicing it, to really drive the point home
Right so the only way it could work is if they trade with capitalists countries?
believe it or not, there aren't very many countries that have access to all the raw resources they need within their borders. like I don't know if you know this but every economy ever requires trade in order for there to be things in the country that can't be manufactured there.
and that's assuming they also don't start colored revolutions in them, assasinate leaders, or start outright wars with those countries
not to mention that most socialist/ex socialist countries weren't rich when they transitioned into socialism, so even if they had all the resources and everything they would still need some time to catch up to have decent standards
and many first-world countries got to where they are now by polluting air and water, depleting the world of any accesible reources, and violating every human right in the book - and then some

my aunt was a member of the lesbian avengers in the late 90s and her chapter had it's own zine and i took some pictures of a few pages
my personal favorite is the letter template which i honestly might make copies of
i think it's very cool that this group (or at least this chapter) was openly trans-inclusive especially in the 90s when TERF rhetoric was extremely prevalent
I love how douchy straight men think that comparing dildos and strap-ons to dick is proof that all women are attracted to men.
Like setting aside the obvious advantages that sex toys have over penises, you're telling me that women like dicks so much that they purchase expensive replicas just so they can have dick without having to fuck a man? And that's a point for men how??
"Capitalism breeds innovation" girl there are only five websites left and they all look the same
please let your voice shine gorgeous
[ID:
tag that reads "capitalism couldn't breed a trans girl in a choker much less innovation"
/end ID]
I talk big game about socialism and "working your wage" and all that, but the truth is I will work for pennies if my boss is flexible and treats me with kindness and respect, my coworkers are nice, and I enjoy the work 😔

Lower- and middle-class conservatives really need to stop defending the billionaires and mega-corporations just in case their fantasies about joining the 1% come true, and instead start defending the poor, homeless, and disabled, because there's a much more real possibility they might end up in one of those groups themselves. Or they could do it because they care about the well-being of their fellow human beings. Either way ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
There's something uniquely painful about being rejected by or pushed aside by a person that would later abuse you. I wish I could take back the validation I gave her. I wish she knew how little I want her now. But most of all, I wish she really was the person I thought she was when I fell for her.
