Listen, nobody who's ever opened a history book says we didn't do that shit first. Pick an atrocity and chances are there was a time europeans did it on mass to someone for the sake of profit. The difference, is that we have for the most part put that behind us, while the US is just sinking deeper and deeper into it. We're not perfect, and we were a lot worse in the past. and none of this is new! but you go online and see other actors from other shows being so normal about it and you're like oh right this actually should not be this hard. 6 years post canonization you'd think he'd have at least a half decent pr answer at the ready. he'd at least have had some candid conversations with a few writers about it, watched a few important episodes. anything. but no, he thinks if he didn't play it that way, it can't possibly have ever come across that way cause he's a good actor, and it can't possibly have been in any other puzzle piece of that storytelling. especially since everything in the scripts that did ping his radar, he pushed to change every time. those were just small inconsistencies that he was helping to clean up, surely nothing indicative of a broader story arc anyone was writing. just a gay writer getting too excited or a woman not knowing how to write men. surely. nothing to see here

okay you guys. i have thought about this so much. they ruined and sanitized cas death in all along the watchtower because remember!!!! his body did fully get stabbed btw!!! if you even careee!!! like remember in stuck in the middle with you when cas is also stabbed and his shirt is all bloody and then his hands are all bloody because he's holding his guts in like im just saying cas did fully get stabbed at the end of s12 and he should have been all bloody and like maybe blood even comes out of his mouth a little bit like he did get stabbed in the lungs area!!! anyway. all this to say, when dean has to grab cas his hands get all bloody and he keeps trying to push that blood back in like it will somehow make a difference, and he leaves his bloody handprints all over cas' pretty white shirt and his jaw and his neck and he wants to kill himself about it. and then he will have nightmares about being covered in cas' blood forever and ever and ever hehehehe yaaayy!!! yippeee!!!!

dean having the worst nightmare of his life where he dreams about prisoner scene and about stabbing cas forreal and then he wakes up and his hands are covered in cas' blood because he fell asleep in the house before they went back to the bunker and he didn't wash his hands and look oh my god sammy i killed him i really killed him!!!!

even if your nervous system is shot to hell and you're a reactive dog on a chain all the time you can spend several years retraining your nervous system (with the help of friends to practice Disagreeing With) and one day you can reach a point where getting Disagreed With doesn't cause your whole entire bodybrain situation to implode messily. it's super great. I recommend it

I think the best thing about this is that it's really really really hard for ages and it feels like you're not making much progress. but then once you hit a certain point the benefits start to snowball because every time you're able to handle a situation without getting Activated, able to admit you were wrong with grace, able to reevaluate your ideas without getting defensive, able to deescalate interpersonal conflicts, you're building up this positive reinforcement history with those things and that makes those pathways in your brain get more deeply grooved and you start to associate opportunities to do those things with like, Learning New Stuff, or Connecting With People In New Ways, or even just That Interaction Went Better Than It Would Have Five Years Ago. and then the next time it happens it's that much less terrifying. and then in situations where despite your efforts it DOESN'T go well, that makes it easier to be like "well that's an anomaly and it seems like it's more about where the other person is at right now than it is about me" and not have it feel like EVIL FAILURE. it's like building a muscle but it's such a crucial muscle and so many other things really depend on it in terms of moving thru the world as a social animal. I think. like once you accept your status as Social Animal In Progress, Doing My Best and Willing To Change it takes so much pressure off. omg. it's such a game changer
