The team at the @austinpubliclibrary Book Shop emailed me with the greatest news yesterday--my zine has almost sold out, and they've asked me to restock! So if you don't grab the last one for now, hang tight; I'll swing by on Friday to drop off more copies.
Did I scream with delight when I got that email? I sure as hell did! I made this zine piece by piece with my hands and my whole heart, so I am honored and thrilled that people are choosing it to take home and read. I hope it brings the same joy and love to everyone who reads it.

What an absolute treat it was to have a table at Lone Star Zine Fest 2025. My first time vending at anything, ever! I met lots of incredible creative people, had fascinating conversations with those who stopped by my booth, and fulfilled my dream of placing my work in not one but TWO zine libraries. (Sherwood Forest Zine Library and the Fine Arts Library at the University of Texas). A very good weekend!
I'm so psyched to have a table at the Lone Star Zine Fest very soon! October 11 & 12, 12p-6p both days, at Blue Genie in Austin, TX. I'll have several new zines there, including one inspired by the theme of this year's Fest: early 2000s Internet culture. Come on out and say hello!
Just dropped a copy of my zine in the Little Free Library that sits outside the middle school I attended in 1992. It felt important to do soβI left it as spell to disperse shame backward and forward in time. May all little queer middle school kids know and love themselves and be known and loved. π³οΈβπ
i think everyone should make zines. about everything all the time. make a zine about a playlist, about a good sandwich you made, about a cool bug you saw, about a skill you can teach, about a cause you care about. put them everywhere. pin them to community boards and tape them to poles and leave them in cafes and in between library books. i hate how social media has been taken over more than ever now by big greedy corporations and people and has become a mess of churning shit out for the algorithm. zines have no algorithm it is just the love in your heart the passion in your soul whatever your pencil decides to put on paper!! and it's beautiful!! make zines now!

Happy Pride 2025. This post is 5 years old, and Iβm in equal parts proud of it, and annoyed by how chaotic and tacky it is. So Iβve decided to make a new version: one where all the additions are in a single reblog, and with integrated image descriptions (thank you @oddler14 for providing most of these back then!). I would love it if people reblogged this version instead, even if I understand the previous version is much more widespread on Tumblr.
I am one of the people who, for a long time, didnβt feel queer enough. Specifically, as a nonbinary person, I struggled for a long time to believe I was trans enough to even deserve to label myself as trans. This post was the start of my journey unlearning that shame and guilt, which was caused in part by the gatekeepy rhetoric that was predominant in many online spaces. Today, I am confident and joyous in my trans, nonbinary, queer body and mind.
To my 20-year-old self, and to anyone else who might need to hear this: you are queer enough. Donβt let anyone tell you otherwise. And always, always remember:
