Regulus and Sirius Black once made a quiet promise as children to always find their way back to each other while kneeling in the overgrown backyard of the Blacks' summer residence. A wishbone snapped perfectly in half by little, muddy fingers like fate herself was playing a twisted game. Now they haven't seen or heard from each other in a decade- because when they ran from the hellhole of their family home, they ran to different arms, different families and different lives. But when a fateful night intertwines their paths once again in the most unimaginable way possible- Sirius and Regulus aren't sure whether they have it in themselves to get to know a brother all over again anymore. But they're damn well going to try their hardest.

Sirius Black wasn't a jealous man. However, when Remus returned to their shared dormitory in Gryffindor Tower one evening with a faint smile on his face, a blush on his cheeks, and glowing eyes, Sirius was overcome by a strange, unfamiliar feeling. He compared it to the pain he'd felt during his last Quidditch match, having been hit squarely in the stomach with a Bludger. For a moment, his breath caught, he curled in on himself and bit his jaw, letting the pain course through his already exhausted body. That feeling eventually passed, though (right after Madam Pomfrey had given him one of her potions), but now he felt it only intensify with each passing moment. And potions weren't likely to help him here.

Remus had to take a deep, steadying breath as he stood there, awkwardly shifting from foot to foot, scratching the back of his head as his heart tripped in his chest. He couldn’t stop staring at Sirius Black, who was slowly wandering around Remus’s childhood bedroom, observing the posters and little knick-knacks on his shelves with rapt fascination, a look on his face akin to that of an art connoisseur in a museum. Remus knew he should stop watching him. He should talk, say something normal, but he couldn’t tear his eyes away. It was just…it seemed impossible. Sure, James and Pete had both come to visit. During previous summers, one or both of them had always shown up for at least a few days, but Sirius had never been allowed. He’d been trapped at Grimmauld, hidden away every summer. But this summer, it was different. He’d run away. He was free. He could do whatever he wanted and he’d chosen to…to spend two weeks with Remus? The thought made Remus both blush with giddiness and frown with confusion. It didn’t make sense. But yet, he was here.

The Mods are THRILLED to announce that to tide you all over until Fest reveals start on the 22nd, we will be hosting a Flash Fest!

What is a Flash Fest, you ask?

Well, it's all the fun of a fest in a short time, with less rules!

OUR Flash Fest is Wishbone-themed, since so many of the songs on this album were absolute BANGERS!

The only thing you need to do to participate in the fest is upload a work inspired by one of the Wishbone songs to our Flash Fest Collection on ao3! It will be revealed right away, and there is no need to get it approved!

You also are allowed to participate even if you didn't participate in the original Fest! This is separate from our main Fest, and is OPTIONAL for original participants.

AND your work can also be from any fandom!

We hope to see some exciting works! As always, please let us know if you have any questions, and our main fest reveal schedule will be posted on Sunday!
