Suicidal, traumatized, rage-filled man and his symbolically adopted (equally rage-filled and traumatized) daughter. Both wielding that soft “It’s okay” to comfort each other. Would you guys believe me if I told you that this movie is peak hopecore to me? It’s a beautiful day, indeed. 

Less of a lyrics-focused edit in comparison to the Last Resort one. However, the visual of Joe carrying Nina on his back (and the light catching the folds of her dress) created a momentary illusion of “angel wings” on him. At least to my eyes. So combining the clip with that specific part of the lyrics was intentional. Just thought it was cute that there are alternative ways for him to “grow wings” other than transcending his physical form with the suicide that constantly calls out to him. The guardian angel energy is strong with him.
