The first time she sees you is when she crashes near Lois Laneâs backyard. Thereâs a pool outside â she can hear Jimmy Olsenâs laughter and smell the chlorine drifting through the warm Metropolis air. Stumbling, Kara makes her way to the pool area and the laughter and the overwhelming joy she always tried to feel again.
Clark is there, a kiss the cook apron on as he mans the grill. He looks at the movement, then looks back as he realizes who just stumbled into the yard. He blinks, âKara? Hey!â
The blonde pauses as she takes in the scene around her. Itâs only Lois and Jimmy here, both lounging in the pool and chatting away with a drink in one hand. Thatâs fine â she knows them well enough not to worry. However, there was something missing.
âWhereâs my dog?â
Thatâs when she sees the fluffed, white ear of Krypto standing to attention in a lounge chair. Except, heâs not alone. Heâs spread out, lying sideways as someone soothes him with small, gentle pets. His tail thumps against the chair at the sound of her voice but he makes no effort to move.
You blink as a shadow settles over you, fingers in Kryptoâs curls as you look up. Kara scowls down at you, confusion trying to overtake the hangover thatâs building. âHi, you must be Clarkâs cousin. Care-uh, right?â
âKara,â she corrects your pronunciation. She looks to where youâre petting Krypto ; watching how he melts into you completely and contently. âThatâs my dog.â
You pause your motions, sitting up in the lounge chair with a whine in protest from the dog. âSorry. I can move.â
âWhy is he sleeping?â
The question catches you off guard. Every time you see Krypto, he falls asleep in your lap. Sometimes heâll even lay there as you feed him treats by hand, always composed relaxed as he does so.
Clark walks up to his cousin with a grin you know is tensed. âHe always sleeps with [name] around.â
[Name]. You were familiar to her. Clark spoke of you all the time â that fond, proud smile on his face as if he was talking about a younger sibling. The same smile he uses for Kara.
The blonde nods slowly before whistling. Krypto lets out a groan before slowly standing to attention and stretching. He stares at you, mouth seemingly pulled into a grin as he pants. You pat his head with a little smile before he turns to Kara.
My dog, she thinks to herself with a frown, is never polite or tired. Itâs witchcraft â otherworldly. Kara says nothing as she looks at you one more time before taking off, Krypto trailing behind her.
The next time you see the kryptonian is embarrassing, actually. Youâd hidden away in Clarkâs apartment, only there to seek comfort from the white fluffball you adored.
With a crash, Kara is stumbling towards you once more. She pauses â you were not her cousin and she was not prepared to see you.
Youâre sat on the floor, arms curled around Krypto as the dog sits in your lap. His eyes flutter until his head falls, chin on your shoulder as you squeeze him closer. Karaâs shoe scuffs the floor and causes you to jump, startled.
âOh,â you sniff, âhello again.â
Youâre crying. Kara cringes as she watches you wipe tears away, facing away from her as you do so. Krypto has melted into you once more, sagging against you completely as he begins to snore.
You clear your throat, preparing to unwind your arms from her dog before she stops you. âItâs fine.â Kara pauses before walking over and settling next to you on the floor. She watches as her dogâs ear twitches, acknowledging her before he settles again. âItâs weird. Heâs so calm around you.â
âClark calls me when heâs being hyper,â you say with a smile. Your fingers are absentmindedly twirling Kryptoâs curls as you speak â Kara notices. âSometimes heâll play until heâs tired and sometimes he just curls up with me and sleeps. Clark says thatâs not normal for him.â
âMy dog,â Kara begins. She looks over at the slumped thing, amazed at the serenity he leaks. âIs not a sleeper. He chases and bites and barks.â She looks over you again, âare you magic?â
You let out a snort, startled by her assumption. You sniffle again with a shake of your head, smile still in place as you look to her. âNot in any sense. I think he just likes me.â
Krypto, Kara thinks, rarely just likes anyone. Heâs still a hyperactive puppy, so a treat or toy from a stranger will catch his attention. This, though â he never actively seeks anyone out the way he does you.
The room grows quiet as Krypto twitches in his sleep â you smile at the movement and Kara continues to watch you. You let in a big breath, âmy dog passed away.â
Kara watches you closer â the way your shoulders shake and eyes shine â in preparation for more tears. You swallow, âmy dog died. When I moved to Metropolis, Krypto was buzzing through the street and just landed right in front of me. He was so sweet and gentle and he tilts his head at me whenever I speak to him. So I bother Clark a lot to see him.â
You brush over his head again, causing the dog to groan and stretch as he gets comfortable. Kara watches silently as her dog â her super powered, chaos causing dog â folds into your lap like a tiny baby. âHeâs nothing like mine was, but he lets me know heâs here for me in that way that dogs do.â
She understands now. You lost your world metaphorically the way Kara lost hers literally. The blonde looks away from you, âKryptoâs good at saving people like that.â
âHe really is!â You grin. Your elbow bumps Karaâs lightly as you adjust and a surge of heat soars through her. âHe also really likes egg and cheese bagels, but they have to be in sandwich form. Heâs so particular about it.â
Kara laughs at that, imagining her bumbling cousin trying to make bagels just so her dog wouldnât throw a tantrum. She watches Krypto again and pets him as he lays on you, getting closer to you than she meant to. His tail wags at her touch and she has to look away from the smile you send her.
The last time is an accident. Kara had come to Earth after battling an enemy she couldnât be bothered to learn the name of. They werenât important or hard to beat, really â sheâd just overexerted and needed to heal.
Coincidently, she spots you walking down Metropolisâ street before she collapses.
You panic before calling Clark, shoes scuffing against the pavement as you stop in front of Kara. Sheâs breathing, but slightly battered as she remains unconscious. Clark arrives quickly, forehead wrinkled with worry as he watches you tuck a piece of hair behind her ear and out of her face.
âVitamin D deficiency,â he says slowly. Like itâs a secret â like he doesnât want anyone to know. âShe just needs to rest.â
âMy place is close,â you reply. âI donât mind watching over her â I know youâve got work.â
Itâs warm. Soft and warm and nice as she comes to. Kara lets out a small groan as her eyelids flutter open. She faces a large window, sunlight pouring in as the blanket around her is tugged higher over her shoulders.
You pop into view, frown where your smile usually is as you set a drink down on the bedside table. The sun shines behind you, illuminating you like sheâd just found the correct answer to a question she didnât ask. You hesitate before reaching out, the back of your hand meeting her forehead gently. âGood. You do feel warmer now.â
â[Name].â
âHey,â you smile as you sit on the corner of the bed. Kara rises slowly, arms trembling slightly as she does so. You grab the cup youâd set down, âdrink slowly.â
Itâs fizzy and sweet, curling through a strawberry themed straw. Kara hums, âwhat is this?â
âA Shirley Temple.â You place the cup back down, wiping the condensation on your pants. âFigured you needed something a little sugary.â
Kara pauses, looking to her lap and flexing her fingers. She feels energized â buzzed. She realizes sheâd never felt this healed before. Never felt this relaxed and in tune with her own body.
âWhat did you do to me?â
You frown again as you look her over. Your phone is on your lap from where youâd been updating Clark, the lockscreen showing a picture of Krypto sheâd never seen. âI had Clark bring you to my house after you passed out. Then I tucked you in and waited until you woke up.â
The blonde grunts, hand curling into her messy hair â her three day migraine was gone. She eyes you slowly. You almost roll your eyes, âdid you expect me to do something else?â
Kara felt so refreshed. Like she could go back to sleep, curled up in your sheets as she relaxed in your home. Maybe this is how Krypto always felt when he was around you â maybe thatâs why he was always so calm.
âNo.â The kryptonian looks out of the window at the sun â her life source. She then looks at you, shoulders less tense than before. âNot from you I donât.â
âââĽď¸ââ

what if mates â human ones â in the twilight universe had no smell to other vampires? like absolute law a fated mate will not be in danger from other vampires
please please please give me more domestic avengers tower loki
You think that you and Loki are dating. Maybe. Probably.
Two months ago, Loki waltzed up to you in the common room kitchen and instructed youâinstructed being the apt word, because his snotty tone implied that there was absolutely no arguingâthat you would be going to the theatre that evening.
âWhat should I wear?â
âSomething nice.â His eyes had practically shredded your clothes, raking over your body with a devilâs intent. âSend me pictures. So we can match.â
He never called it a date, though. He just took you places. And held your hand. And offered you his coat, even when you insisted that you already had one, which he took from you with a rolled eye and held under his arm instead so that you had no choice but to wear his. In public.
So you had to be dating⌠right?
Youâre lost in a daydream when a hand slides over the small of your back. You startle, spinning around to confront your assailant with enough force to scatter the onions youâre chopping in perfect semi-circle. Bewildered (and a little condescending), Loki blinks down at the shards of root vegetable scattered across his socks. âDid I scare you?â
You sigh, leaning your forehead on his shoulder. âYeah. Yeah, give me a second.â
His hand rises absentmindedly to rub your arm, soothing up and down your bicep until your heartbeat slows. âItâs only me, dove.â
âYou were scary, once.â
âHmph! I'm still scary.â The onions disapparate with a wave of his hand and a little sizzling sound. âWhat are you making?â
âSoup.â He smells good. You press your nose against the slip of skin between his shirt collar and his throat, trying not to be too obvious about how youâre drinking in his cologne. âEveryoneâs leaving for that peace conference in New Zealand tomorrow, so I thought we could do a big dinner before they go. Wandaâs coming to work on the main course in a bit but this needs to sit in the Crock-Pot for a few hours.â
âYou were planning on cutting a hundred onions by hand?â
âHelp me?â
Loki's devious fingers trail along the side seam of your t-shirt. âFor a price.â
âWhat price?â
He peels you off his shoulder, just far enough to look at you, and you can tell by the way his skin crinkles around his eyes that heâs aware of your secret snuffling. He doesnât call you out on it, though; only rakes his gaze over you and smiles. âI havenât decided yet.â
âThatâs not fair. I canât agree to something I donât know the stakes of.â
âYouâll have to, if you want my help.â
âI could just refuse and work alone.â
âOh, but then Iâll grow so horribly bored that I will have no choice but to act out. And who knows what Iâll do.â His hands creep under your hem, admiring the give of your skin when he paws at it. âI can promise you that we wonât be finished in time for dinner.â
âFine.â
You put him to work chopping vegetables while you start on the roux. Heâs only half-hearted in his efforts though, more concerned with staring at the side of your face. He loves to study you. Sometimes you catch him trying to pace his breathing to match yours, late at night; or youâll spot his cheek twitching to mimic your smile whenever you laugh. Heâs picked up certain mortal turns of phrase, only to use them incorrectly in the hopes that youâll lecture him.
Your eyes connect for a heartbeat, and the clock display on the oven is wiped clean by Lokiâs seidr.
âAre we dating?â You only half-mean to say it; it was more a fleeting thought than a real concern, but the silence that had settled over the two of you was begging to be broken. The rhythmic chopping sound ceases, and you internally wince without looking back at him.
âHave I not been taking you on dates?â
âYeah, butââ
âBut, what?â
âAre we⌠dating dating?â
âSpeak earnestly, sphynx. I donât have time for riddles.â
âIs this just for fun? Or is it for serious?â
Loki Laufeyson is holding a knife. A year ago, the Avengers wouldn't have let him within ten feet of anything with a decently sharpened edge, and now he blinks his pretty eyes back at youâcovered in onion skin and scraps of carrotâlike youâre a particularly unreasonable puzzle that he is remiss to solve. ââFor seriousâ?â
âLike, together. Boyfriend-girlfriend.â
âAm I not sufficiently domesticated?â
âWell, yeah.â
âThen why are you asking me such asinine questions?â
âYou know what? Nevermind. I get it.â
âSphynx. Faerie. Look at me.â He turns you around by your waist, holding you in place so he can shoot you an irate-but-loving glare. âStop speaking in riddles and tell me plainly: do you love me?â
âOf course I do.â
âWell, then that answers everything, because I love you, too.â
âOh.â
His mouth curls with a certain rose-coloured cruelty. Loki leans in just near enough that his mouth ghosts over yours, but his hands hold you firm, thumbs digging a warning into your hips when you try to cross the rest of the distance. âYouâre so verbose. Oh.â
âStop making fun of me.â
His lips slide to the curve of your jaw. âIâm afraid that is an impossible request, darling. Now, can you get these into your pot-of-crock? I have a very short fuse left before I must ravish you and it burns hotter every second.â
fandom etiquette as a whole died when people who didnât grow up on fandoms became stans during lockdown, yes, but why am i seeing people openly mocking fics on twitter. why am i seeing screenshots of fics with captions like âbro what is this đ.â why am i seeing people mock fic writers for not knowing how sports or theater or college or any other organization operates in the real world.
âcollege is absolutely nothing like thisâ âwhy are we writing four people on the team scoring a hat trick in one gameâ âso tech work is nothing like this, hope that helps!â
if you donât like a fic, and if you canât suspend your belief enough to enjoy a fic that exaggerates or ignores real-world orgs, you donât have to read it. you donât have to screenshot it and put it on blast for twitter. you donât have to post a link to it in the replies. the back button is literally there on your phone. itâs not giving babyâs first fandom anymore, itâs giving entitled asshole and it isnât as cute as you think it is.

hi! hope you're doing well, for the valentine's special can i request a drabble for isaac lahey with the prompt: "Be mine? I mean, you are. But I like it when you say it."? please and thank youuuđŤśđťđŤśđť
đvalentine's day drabble specialđ
"Say it..." Isaac purred against your neck.
You giggled, pushing him away only a little, whining a no but not really meaning it.
"Please. Say it-" He asked again, his canines growing, nipping at your skin, not enough to draw blood but enough to make you shiver and gasp with each touch. "I'm begging here." He whined and you shook your head again.
The sunlight was filtering through the curtains and his arms were wrapped around you like a vice. He had no intention of letting you start the day unless you said what he wanted to hear.
"Noooo-" You laughed again. "You already know it. I have the stupid marks, handprints and bites to prove it."
It was true too. Isaac Lahey was a biter and a scratcher. Every chance he got, he left a little reminder that you were his. Only his. The only thing in this stupid world that was just his.
"Please. Please, sweetheart. Just say it." His lips trailed softly along your jawline. "Be mine."
"I already am-" You giggle, your fingers treading through his messed-up curls.
"I know you are but I like it when you say it." He whined like a kicked puppy.
You pouted, pretending to think about it. "What do I get if I say it?"
"Anything. Everything." He sighed, his tongue licking at the juncture of your neck and shoulder, over the bite that had bonded you to him. "I'll do whatever you ask. Please."
You knew you'd never ask for much. What could you? You had most of everything you could ever want. So, you teased him more. Humming and thinking as if actually pondering your decision. It just made him even more of a needy mess.
"Please." He was begging now and god how you loved it.
"Okay-" You whispered, kissing at his temple. "I'm yours."
"Again. Please. Say it again." He groaned, his hands gripping your hips tightly.
"I'm yours." You said again and his eyes flashed yellow for a moment as he buried his face into your neck again.
"Wake me up every morning with that." Isaac sighed softly, kissing and licking at your bond mark, savouring the taste of you, and making sure that you smelled like him and him alone.
Okay so idk if youâll do it but I really want thiam (Liam and Theo) x reader and like they are being possessive or something but like not in a cringy way like domestic dominance I guess and itâs in like a public setting and some guy tries to flirt or something like that
You can do whatever you want with this and as always you donât have to write this at all!
oh i absolutely will do this.
contains: quiet/domestic possessiveness, protective behavior, public setting (school), implied established relationship
thiam x fem!reader, theo raeken x fem!reader, liam dunbar x fem!reader
you donât notice the guy at first. youâre just trying to grab a soda from the vending machine outside the school gym - final bellâs long gone, the hallway half-lit, echoing with the sound of sneakers and distant laughter. lacrosse practice mustâve just let out.
youâre fishing change from your bag when someone steps up beside you.
âyouâre in my chem class, right?â
you glance up. heâs leaning against the wall like he thinks heâs smooth. âdidnât think youâd be here this late.â
you offer a tight smile, polite but detached. âjust waiting.â
he doesnât get the hint. âyour boyfriend gonna be mad if i talk to you?â
your mouth opens to reply, but then you feel it - them.
liam appears first, dropping his duffel beside your feet, eyes calm but unreadable as he steps between you and the guy, casually hitting the vending machine button for you. âhey, babe,â he says without looking at the other kid. âyou want the orange or the grape?â
âorange,â you murmur.
then theoâs there too, slower and quieter, leaning against the opposite wall. eyes sharp. arms crossed. but he doesnât say anything at first - he doesnât need to.
the guy gets the message almost immediately.
âdidnât realize you were- uh. iâll see you in class,â he mutters, backing off.
liam hands you your drink, lips brushing your temple. âyou alright?â
you nod. âhe was just talking.â
âsure he was,â theo says flatly, finally pushing off the wall. he looks at you, not the guy, and adds, ânext time just text us. weâre not far.â
âi knew youâd find me,â you say.
and itâs true. you donât need them to yell or threaten or throw a punch - theyâve never needed that to make their point. they just show up. every time. without fail.
and when you walk out of the school between them, theoâs hand brushing yours and liamâs arm looped lazily around your shoulders, no one tries anything again.
oh please can you write something with ace jimmy olsen đ maybe something where he and reader are both ace and reader helps jimmy realise he is, or one where heâs worried about not being enough only for the reader to also be ace đ
Relationship(s):Â asexual!Jimmy Olsen x gn!asexual!reader (romantic)
Summary:Â You and Jimmy have been on a few dates now. He decides it's time to tell you something important. Based on past experiences, he's afraid that it's a dealbreaker.
Warnings:Â Referenced acephobia; internalised acephobia; ace-related dating struggles; food/eating. (Let me know if I need to add any)
Word count:Â 1.2k
(A/N: As I've mentioned in a previous post, I love the interpretation of Jimmy being on the ace spectrum. He's what I like to call a 'Jessica Rabbit asexual', in that he is canonically very attractive to other people, but that sexuality is imposed upon him more than it's something he experiences for himself. It's one of my favourite ace character types. Also, this isn't me saying that you have to interpret Jimmy as being ace or that I think that he is or should be canonically ace. But, as an ace person, I think it's a neat way to think about his character. And, on that note, I have to add the disclaimer that this is very much from my own experiences and feelings around my own asexuality. Apologies if you're an ace reader and you don't like my portrayal of asexuality. I do admit, the few ace!reader fics I've written are centred around insecurity and/or coming out, so apologies if you're tired of that kind of fic. Of course, if you have any requests, ace-based, Jimmy-based or not, my inbox is always open!)
Jimmy couldnât help but think something was wrong with him. He attracted women so effortlessly â an everyday superpower that most men would give a whole arm for. And, as sweet and pretty as most of these women were, he couldnât bring himself to do what he was expected to do with their attention. Whether they knew it or not, he tried so hard to make it work, but ultimately he couldnât. Some of them were patient and understanding. Some of them thought heâd messed around with their feelings. If he wasnât so confused and so in his own head about what the hell was the matter with him, he might have felt even guiltier about it.
Was he even attracted to women? The question had popped up in his mind a few times. Maybe if he got propositioned by someone who wasnât a woman, that would be that. Heâd be fully into it. Heâd just be one of those gay dudes who women couldnât help but fall for. But, he wasnât gay, either. That's not to say he was straight. When he thought about it, he liked the idea of dating anyone, no matter what their gender was. His problem â the thing he couldnât get over â was the whole thing of him not being all too eager about sex, contrary to what people might assume given his strange magnetism.
Sex was this vital aspect of relationships â Jimmy knew that. And, he knew, if he didnât feel sexual attraction to anyone, and if sex wasnât part of any ideal future relationship he might have, itâd be a dealbreaker for a lot of people. It had been. So, to stick himself with a label that could potentially doom him and his prospects at finding a relationship⌠well, as much as the label resonated with him, and as much comfort as he found in knowing that he wasnât alone, he was a little scared, truth be told.
This worry loomed over him as he started to fall for you. It was why he held off on asking you out, because it seemed unfair to be the one to initiate anything with you if he knew full well that he wouldnât be able to give you what all of his past partners had wanted. But, as always, he only had to wait for you to ask him. You were so nervous that heâd have felt cruel turning you down â not to mention, of course, he really did want to go out with you. And, so he did. He was so charmed by you that, after a few dates, he almostâ almostâ forgot about the issue of sex. But, the more he felt himself falling for you, the guiltier he felt. There wasnât any reason for him to feel guilty, of course.
Regardless, that guilt is why he found himself sitting across from you at a quaint little diner â his suggestion, his treat. As heâd hoped, it was pretty much deserted, besides a group of four teenagers sitting on the opposite side of the diner and the two waitresses who were busying themselves by cleaning tables. The pair of you sat in silence as you ate. It would have been comfortable if Jimmy wasnât agonising over the idea of telling you about the thing that had ended so many promising relationships. Even though he was close to full, he wished he had another burger or another serving of fries to keep his mouth out of action. But, he knew that itâd be better for the both of you if he just got this over with. Delaying the inevitable would only make things worse.
âSo, uhââ He cleared his throat. âI think Iâd better tell you something before things get too serious.â
âSure.â You covered your mouth as you spoke, the last bite of food still mushed up in your mouth. âIs everything okay?â
He scratched his eyebrow and let out a nervous chuckle.
âYeah. No. I mean, I donât know.â
You grabbed your napkin and scrubbed the corners of your mouth and your fingers, conscious of the fact that you didnât want to have shit all over your face when Jimmy was talking about something serious.
âWhatâs up?â
âI⌠I donât know how to explain it all that well. But, I, uh, I guess⌠people assume Iâm, like, some ladies man and that I sleep around. Maybe you do too. But, actually, Iâm not into⌠sex.âÂ
You nodded.
âOkay.â
âI like you â I really like you,â he added, panic in his tone. âBut, not in a way that involves sex⌠And⌠if thatâs a dealbreaker for you, thatâs okay. I just⌠I figured I should tell you now, before things go too far.â
As he awaited his fate, he looked anywhere but at you. Though, the second you spoke, his eyes darted straight to you.
âI donât wanna put words in your mouth or make you label yourself or anything but⌠are you asexual?â
âProbably. Yeah.â
âWhat about aromantic?â
He shook his head.
âNo. Justâjust⌠asexual.â
You noticed his hesitation to use the word and you offered him a small, reassuring smile. Heâd barely said the word aloud before â about himself, anyway. Itâd cycled through his head plenty of times but it still scared him with how definitive it felt, no matter how accurate it was to his experience. Every time heâd tested it out, it filled him with nerves as much as it relieved him, in the way that only the truth could.Â
He knew there was nothing wrong with him or any other ace person. Not everyone agreed with that, and even those who were accepting of asexuality werenât always open to dating ace people. The people he attracted tended to fall in that latter camp. At the very least, it was nice to be met with support even when it was, more often than not, the end of things, like with any incompatibility in a relationship. He couldnât begrudge anyone for their needs in a relationship, in the same way he hoped they didnât begrudge him for his, but he couldnât deny that it hurt.
âWell,â you said. âI donât want to take away from your moment or anything, but this is probably a good time to tell you that Iâm asexual.â
Jimmy stared at you for a moment before replying.
âYouâre asexual?âÂ
âYep.â
âSoâŚâ
âSo, you donât have to worry about sex with me, okay? The feelingâs mutual. No offence. Your charms only work so much on me.â
At that, Jimmy let out a much needed laugh. His posture relaxed as all that built-up tension left his body. A wobbly smile tugged at the corners of his lips. Tears brimmed his eyes. You reached across the table and grabbed his hand; you knew exactly how he felt, having been in his position plenty of times. It broke your heart that heâd been so nervous, no doubt from rejection after rejection. It wasnât all doom and gloom for ace people, of course â this moment was evidence of that â but it sure felt like that sometimes. Youâd be lying if you denied getting a little choked up as well.
