Marshals Uniform from the French Empire dated to the 19th Century on display at the Royal Amroury in Stockholm, Sweden

This uniform belonged to Marshal of the French Empire, Jean Baptiste Bernadotte before his ascension to the throne of Sweden. Jean was initially offered up by the Emperor Napoleon in an attempt to secure Sweden as an ally. Despite promising to the emperor himself not to take up arms against him, he would eventually join the allies against his native France.
