Mecha Nids
When the Nids invaded Jarvien 4, the Observers saw. They watched as Nids tore through the defences of the PDFs like they were made of paper. Even destroying the Observers Servitors but that was in the name of knowledge and understanding. Thanks to the lives of countless slaves they were able to capture a specimen. It took two daemons fallen through the warp to hold it down and push it into their prison for it. They upgraded it, filled and covered it in tech to control it to make it better. Then unleashed it on an unsuspecting agri world, it tore through it. All that was left was the ashes. However, it broke free of the control and tried to attack the observer thankfully there was plenty of soldiers willing to give their lives to the cause. When all was said and the done, the tech burned it had been filled with a daemon. A daemon and a nid in one body. It howls now lost the one mind of the Hive mind,

Cracks spread across the void, breaking the walls between what is and what should never be. Reality itself cracked, colours that can only be dreamed off oozed through these cracks, dribbling into the void itself. Reality was shattered each piece; a different beginning, a different story, a different lie to tell everyone to let you all sleep better at night/
When space is made real, the cracks will always be there. When the end arrives and the universe is put to sleep. The cracks will still be there. Invading every moment of space, what broke it. Some scholars thought it be the activation of the athena protocol, which created a bridge in space time. It was a failure all hands were lost. Another ship lost in the name of progress and understanding.
Whispers in the darkest corners of the galaxy, say about the birth of something in the Moratt System. Something that broke through the skin of the universe, born to the screams of every person in the universe at once. A being of power that can; bring entire worlds to dust, cause stars to collapse and go supernova with just a thought. The stories say that it will be there to put the universe to sleep
The Holy Avenger/Weapons of Legend.
Sometimes a sword isn’t just a sword. Maybe it was a gift from a woman ascending from the depths of a lake to gift a blade that declared the presence of the once and future king. Perhaps it was forged from the heart of a star, quenched by the blood of the divine. Or it may be nothing more than steel forged by a talented hand, becoming more than just a tool in the right battle, in the right hand, in the right moment.
They always have names, for they would just be steel without them, forgotten in the shadow of their wielders. Excalibur, Durandal, Joyeuse, Zufiqar, Balmung, Curtana Kusanagi, Aerondight, Carsomyr, Daystar. Only the last three were imagined fairly recently, the rest being weapons of legend across the world carrying the weight of centuries. Of them, Joyeuse is one of the few to have certainly existed, the blade stored for posterity in the millennia since it was carried by Charlemagne.
The significance of such weapons is acknowledged for Paladins in the existence of Holy Avenger Weapons, blades brimming with divine power. They are not limited to swords either, though that is the tradition. In the hands of a good Dungeon Master, a Paladin acquiring such a weapon should feel at once the scale of the martial power in their hands, and the responsibility press on them. For they now carry something that has a legend all on its own, and they will either be a footnote in history, or equal to the giants who came before them.
Or perhaps they discover, to their initial puzzlement, that the weapon that slew the dragon, broke the dark lord, and blessed by the sun, is in reality no different than any other blade they’ve carried. Why did the legends speak so highly of such a thing? You realize the truth when you see the look in people’s eyes, fervent and inspired, as you do great deeds, and whether you even drew steel becomes irrelevant. The Power of Stories can give life to any object, and humanity’s love for tales can breath life even into the inanimate. In the end, the potential to do great things was always with us, not in the objects we carry.
So if you want to impact any paladin, knight, or warrior with a weapon as more than just a sharper pointy object, then use it to tell a story that will mean something to them. Give a piece of metal to them, and help them realize that the power to forge greatness is in their hands. Pass on a sword carried by their heroes and loved ones to reinforce that they are worthy of a legacy that goes on for ages. Let the blade appear from a font of light, or from the hands of fate, to promise that the faith they have in their cause is returned by the forces that exist beyond our sight. Or have it be tainted by evil, only to become purified by their wielder’s touch, a reminder that they have the power to unmake evil’s presence in the world.
Tell a story, and with it, encourage a Paladin to make that story their own.
“This is my story, not yours. Let me finish the telling of it.”
Seeing people trying to say that EO’s are safe to ingest on my dash…
Seriously for the fucking millionth time, I don’t know how many people on this site have to scream until we go blue in the face
DON’T INGEST ESSENTIAL OILS
Not now. Not ever. Not a drop. Not half a drop. Do. Not. Ingest. Them. Ever.
There’s no such thing as “food grade” essential oils. Stop your foolishness.
Rather than drinking essential oils like a chump, google and see if you can find a tea of the thing you want. Much tastier and won’t put you in kidney failure.
If it’s not available as a tea, the thing is probably not suitable for human consumption in the first place.
You. I like you.
This gave me a fever when I read it. Like… just buy some tea with cinnamon in it.
I… That’s gonna kill someone. Literally go to your local bodega or mini market and get a pound bag of cinnamon sticks for like $2-3, boil it in water. And even if it’s sticks in water I believe that some asthmatic people or people with respiratory illnesses and sensitivities cannot always tolerate it but don’t quote me though.
That is true! I’m asthmatic and I’ve noticed that consuming cinnamon in a beverage always makes me feel like I can’t breathe too well. I can deal with it in my food, and the smell, etc, but if I have chais or drinks with heavy cinnamon content, it becomes harder to breathe; thus, in turn, making me hyperventilate.
While I’m all for the resurgence of ppl interested in Alternative Medicine. Too many of these dumb fucks think if it’s natural it’s immediately safe.
And like… nature will fuck you and your shit up good and proper.
5 editor’s secrets to help you write like a pro
1. Sentences can only do one thing at a time.
Have you ever heard a four-year-old run out of breath before she can finish her thought? I edit a lot of sentences that work the same way. You need a noun, you need a verb, you might need an object. Give some serious thought to stopping right there.
Sentences are building blocks, not bungee cords; they’re not meant to be stretched to the limit. I’m not saying you necessarily want a Hemingway-esque series of clipped short sentences, but most writers benefit from dividing their longest sentences into shorter, more muscular ones.
2. Paragraphs can only do one thing at a time.
A paragraph supports a single idea. Construct complex arguments by combining simple ideas that follow logically. Every time you address a new idea, add a line break. Short paragraphs are the most readable; few should be more than three or four sentences long. This is more important if you’re writing for the Web.
3. Look closely at -ing
Nouns ending in -ing are fine. (Strong writing, IT consulting, great fishing.) But constructions like “I am running,” “a forum for building consensus,” or “The new team will be managing” are inherently weak. Rewrite them to “I run,” “a forum to build consensus,” and “the team will manage.” You’re on the right track when the rewrite has fewer words (see below).
(If for some insane reason you want to get all geeky about this, you can read the Wikipedia article on gerunds and present participles. But you don’t have to know the underlying grammatical rules to make this work. Rewrite -ing when you can, and your writing will grow muscles you didn’t know it had.)
4. Omit unnecessary words.
I know we all heard this in high school, but we weren’t listening. (Mostly because it’s hard.) It’s doubly hard when you’re editing your own writing—we put all that work into getting words onto the page, and by god we need a damned good reason to get rid of them.
Here’s your damned good reason: extra words drain life from your work. The fewer words used to express an idea, the more punch it has. Therefore:
Summer months Regional level The entire country On a daily basis (usually best rewritten to “every day”) She knew that it was good. Very (I just caught one above: four-year-old little girl)
You can nearly always improve sentences by rewriting them in fewer words.
5. Reframe 90% of the passive voice.
French speakers consider an elegantly managed passive voice to be the height of refinement. But here in the good old U.S. (or Australia, Great Britain, etc.), we value action. We do things is inherently more interesting than Things are done by us. Passive voicemuddies your writing; when the actor is hidden, the action makes less sense.
Bonus: Use spell-check
There’s no excuse for teh in anything more formal than a Twitter tweet.
Also, “a lot” and “all right” are always spelled as two words. You can trust me, I’m an editor.
