With Heaven's intentions less than clear, they must work together to make the most of this life they've been given, in a land they hardly understand.

Our Garden Under Heaven is heavily based on a Clangen save, but please do not anticipate it sticking closely to canon Warrior Cats lore. Names, places, and in-universe laws will vary very greatly, and cannot be interpreted through the lens of canon Warrior Cats. While Clan Generator is used as an inspiration for the story, many liberties are taken in order to maintain the flow of the story.
Our Garden Under Heaven is a slice of life, Biblical-inspired fantasy. It takes place far in the past, and pulls much of its inspiration in story, characters, and setting from Bible stories. The story you are about to read is explicitly about religious trauma and existing within a theocratic society that often affects characters negatively. I am heavily critical of most religion and magical thinking, and this story is made as a partial reflection of past experiences with the church as well as my own complicated nostalgia. This blog is not a place for evangelism of any kind. No attempts to argue or convert anyone will be tolerated, and you will not be given a second chance if I see it.
ABOUT THE AUTHOR -
You can call me JJ (he/him | in my twenties | ♉️). I consider myself far more of a writer/author than an artist, and this is the first and only comic I have ever made. I have been reading Warrior Cats since I was 8, and playing Clangen for YEARS now. This project began mostly as art practice and a good excuse to try new things and experiment with my art. Please expect plenty of mistakes and inconsistencies with my art style, and be patient with me as I continue to struggle to understand how Tumblr works.
You can find me on my main account - @jjnostredame , and on artfight. I am also active under the same user in the Clangen Creator Discord, which is a great place to come find me if you want to connect. Otherwise, I don't use social media very much. I do also have a Kofi, which I don't advertise much bc frankly monetizing my art scares me very much. But if you feel compelled to pay me, I won't stop you lol.
Please keep in mind I work a real job outside of this space. I have 3 cats and a partner to feed! I sometimes have to put the comic on breaks in order to make sure I don't run out of steam.

i wanted to share the concept art / references i did for this past moon of @echoing-woods ! it's only been a LITTLE agonizing not being able to talk about the Sweet Colony - especially its leader and his family. i have LOTS of art and ideas and things i want to say about them in the tank. but patience is a virtue, so i will continue to wait.
sorry for the slightly worse quality on Dune's reference. they're cropped from a much larger design page 🤫 like i said…. many Sweet kitties to come.
it's actually em and i's 6 year anniversary TODAY <3 6 years of making art together. he is my biggest artistic inspiration and my biggest fan all at once. i am grateful every day for the life we share together ^-^

Hi! People were doing Garden ocs a while back and I loved the idea! Here’s Boar Bristle.
When she first came to the Garden, they only went by Tom, not having a name of her own. But once he settled into life in the Garden, Mulberry Wine named them Boar Bristle!
Boar Bristle enjoys working with the kits of the Garden (or, will, once they’re born.. come on heavensgaze next generation!!) He has joint weakness and pain through his whole body, which is somewhat helped by compression wraps but still keeps them home from hunting patrols.
While she had a wonderful, love-filled life back home, sometimes the only way to move forward is to leave things behind. There’s plenty of love ahead, too.
BOAR BRISTLE ILYYYYYY !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! her shapes are SOOOOO pleasant. you know i love a long snout :3 i bet they would have been instrumental in helping Moth wrangle Heart and Beetle as little ones. and CERTAINLY as we anticipate the next round of kittens... oh i am sure some extra paws would be welcome.
i love the detail of the spikier fur on his face. very suited to their name!! and the second illustration is SO CUTE i love seeing everyone interact. there is so much love in the Garden for her !! welcome welcome!!

Em's done so much work for Our Garden Under Heaven, so i was BEGGING to get to design kitties for his comic too. the solution was apparently to give me a whole fucking Clan in the setting :3 lucky me hehe
i love designing cats for Echoing Woods. between the mega merge sprites offering a whole new color pallet for the designs and Em's own worldbuilding encouraging some cats to look as fucked up as possible (if you haven't seen The What yet you are MISSING OUT) i really get to flex my muscles and make some weird looking friends. or foes. these guys are probably foes.
i'll post my refs of them after a few more updates.... maybe even yap about them more if Em let's me. i've been SO EXCITED to show off my sweet Sweet kitties <3

hey so this is probably the coolest shit i have ever seen.... i watched this on the bus with my partner when you first posted it to artfight and we LOST OUR MINDS over it. i am so utterly blown away by the animation... it looks so good. and i cannot get over the turnaround time from when i posted the ask to when you uploaded this.... you're a monster <3
thank you so much.... you did so much with characters that have appeared so little so far. the moments and allusions to You Don't Know the Half of It are so well done and it's such a treat to see Shaded Valley and Cloudy Star. and Darkest Night and Brightest Dawn.... my beloveds.... i can't wait to make them haunt the narrative even harder. i hope you got 2 million billion points for this on artfight.... if not, you get 2 million billion points from ME.

If you want to share, which characters have died or had kits in moons that you rerolled?
so many 😭😭😭 most notably - both Mulberry and Locust have sired Lake kits COUNTLESS times. That was actually part of the inspo for the swingers club, bc they could NOT get off of her 🥰 there were a few plot lines i had prepared actually just in case, most of which involved her being a potential surrogate for them. Lake's story has since taken a different direction (one im much happier with!!) + other factors have guaranteed that that it won't go down like that, but it was a cute thought at the time.

He technically had it in the Moon 36 Allegiance too, but that was just one full-body so I doubt it caught much attention. He was always designed with it in mind, but it felt weird giving it to him as a little one. I've been looking forward to debuting it 😌
