"With a career that spans over 16 years, South-Korean multi-hyphenate Taemin takes a moment to pause in the Autumn issue of Glass Man, to reflect on his journey to creating his fifth EP, Eternal.
Having debuted at the young age of 15 as the youngest member of SM Entertainment’s SHINee, the musician gained a mass following of loyal fans that watched him not only grow up but also evolve into a lyricist, producer and solo artist.
In this chapter of his career, Taemin has shattered the industry’s staid perception of what defines music and performance for solo male artists. Watching him perform is to witness an artist in perfect control of his craft, offering an intimate view of the world through his eyes.
His latest body of work puts a great emphasis on himself, offering a new insight into the man behind the image. “There may be people with the preconceived notion that a person will change if their environment changes, but I want to show that that is not the case,” he says. “I have always been myself. People may say that there are aspects of my image that are made but I wanted to prove that wherever I am, wherever I may go, that I am me”.
