lately i’ve been struck by my ability to pass the time. when i need to, i am extraordinarily adept at doing nothing. i preferably need music for peak performance but honestly i can sit and daydream for hours and hours and hours and hours. last week for 2 days in a row i was left alone in a man’s flat whilst he went out to work his 12 hour shift and i was thinking of all the things i could do - i could go out for a walk, i could go into the city, i could read my book, i could play games on my phone, i could watch something. what did i do? i put my airpods in, sat on the bed, wandered around inside, looked out of the window, stood at the balcony looking into the distance. when he got back i was like wow that went quick. he said “what did you do?” and i had no idea how to explain that i basically just hung around and thought about things for 12 hours. and then i did the exact same thing again the next day
