THANK YOU! Will is naturally an insecure person about himself and his flaws, and insecurity stems from jealousy (in retrospect). And UGH. Jealousy being Will's fatal flaw fits SO well—rather than something cliché like loyalty or something. (No hate to Percy, I love you.) Then you've got Apollo. He's known to be a jealous god, so it kind of fits the scale here. But jealousy being his fatal flaw is a lot of angst potential. But like it makes sense, cause I can see Will holding a grudge towards someone. After all, he's jealous of them. And UGH. I love it.

EXACTLY. IT WOULD MAKE SO MUCH SENSE. Will is known to be very insecure about himself and his powers, so why not make that a fatal flaw and turn it into something that could actually be fatal? The fandom's idea of a fatal flaw is always directed towards the subject. But a fatal flaw can also be fatal to others. Percy's fatal flaw is loyalty. So obviously—he'll be loyal to his friends, and that can get someone killed. Nico's fatal flaw is holding grudges! So of course his fatal flaw will also include taking revenge on a certain person. The reason I believe Will's fatal flaw is jealousy is that it fits his character—beyond just being anxious and self-loathing. His insecurity about himself will stem from comparison to others. Once that insecurity starts to make him doubt his own abilities, he'll wish he had others rather than his own. And that will turn into an envy that can be described as a fatal flaw. After all, a fatal flaw is a flaw in a character, and that gives them more dimensionality. (Also, hi! neutral.)

So he would admire the ocean from afar, and mourn the gap between him and the sky. But his heart would always call for the looks that glanced in his direction, the deepest, and purest of blue eyes that caught his eye, and he would never look away. This blue would never change, yet it glowed underneath the sun, and gleamed in the dark. A blue he could never ever take his eyes off—if he dared, one so familiar. For the ocean would never return his tears, and the sky would never stay grounded. So curse him for always looking toward that shade of blue, not because it held power, nor did it soar with authority, but because it. always. looked. back.

If they weren't so traumatized we would actually get the extroverted version of Nico. The "I don't actually care what comes out of my mouth, I just run it." Version of him. And the "I have no idea what people think of me whenever I say something so I just keep shut." Version of Will.
Their dynamics would be switched. Nico would be so genuinely annoying towards Will. But Will has learned how to tolerate him through his relationship with him.
At some point their confession would be like:

Will lifts Nico up to his feet, whenever Nico feels like the earth is swalling him whole and under.
Like one who touches the sky, and the other who can reach deep into the earth. Both balance each other out, to stand on both of their feet. Helping each other to lift and to ground.
