its terrible for any number of reasons, but i think if we invent immortality there should be an extreme sport called civilizational speedrunning where teams of 20 go into the wilderness somewhere and try and be the fastest build the first internal combustion engine. i bet you could get it down to like 3 years tops

Why did they put the whole damn horse in the sea??? The texts specifically mention the Greeks built the horse on the plain near the shore, packed the heroes inside, set fire to their own tents to make the retreat look real, and sailed just out of sight behind the nearby island of Tenedos.
Why Nolan decided to put the damn horse in the sea?? Not only it makes zero sense but also the crew could have drowned if the Trojans simply refused to get the horse out of the sea! The director can't claim to have researched this story when he did such stupid decisions to begin with. In the text, the Trojans opened their gates, they walked down to an empty, smoking battlefield and found this massive wooden structure standing where the enemy lines used to be. They had to haul it across the plain and up the hill into the city.
"But it's for tension!" If that's the reason it's a bad execution because Homer had the script ready to adapt, while Nolan all he had to do was follow the source
