i LOVED this book. at first i was kind of thrown off by all the swearing, like ok hi we get it it’s an adult book, but you do get used to it and it does make the dramatic one-liners so much better with “fucking” as as adjective.

a LOT of world building! it’s definitely a lot of information and detail but you can tell she is creating an incredible world and made a set up for an unbelievable series. can’t wait to find out how many books this will be (4 for the 4 houses??). SO MANY CURVEBALLS my heart did not beat for the last 200 pages

some afterthoughts:

•book of breathings & the walking dead were in the library!! old friends!

•who is hunt’s father? were he and jesiba in love or what

•what’s the deal with the seventh asteri

•the fact that bryce is buds with a prince of hel, love that, can’t wait to see what he contributes

•the fact that we still have no idea who/what fury is, she’s just casually one of the baddest in the land

•will bryce’s powers manifest as anything bc she dropped through every type of citizen’s power ??

•who will be the new governor ??

•ruhn’s legendary sword has a “lost” sister knife, bryce she’s all yours sweetie

•when flynn goes: “this is her fucking ordeal”

•hunt calling bryce sweetheart. that’s all

•will bryce be claimed as royalty ?? can’t wait for so much brotherly and sisterly love

•no full on sex scenes yet so you know she’s just waiting to drop them on us in the upcoming books

•ITHAN! redemption with the wolves! she’s a wolf in her heart! lfg

ok every time i read this section i think of throne of glass- i know that their worlds are somewhat paralleled but i feel like the bone carver is like the god of truth, and reminds me of the tombs where they found all of the hellfire ??

and how his brother confined to the lake reminds me of the monster beneath the lake aelin found in wendlyn
