Don’t think about Aedion watching Rowan slowly fall apart and not being able to do anything because the man lost his mate. Don’t think about Fenrys sobbing into Connall’s shoulder, just wishing he could share another laugh with the Golden Queen.

Don’t think Evangeline wondering how Lysandra died, and why Aelin has that funny scar …

Don’t think about Dorian and Chaol traveling back to Ardalan in near-silence, both of them unable to fathom the past few moths events.

Don’t think about Aesion losing his queen just after he’d found her.

Don’t think about Ansel’s silent tears as they lower what’s left of Aelin into the ground, murmuring a soft ‘bitch’ as she walks away.

Don’t think about Elide sitting next to Aelin’ s grave, struggling to read one of her books to her dead queen. Don’t think about Rowan sobbing over Aelin’s body, begging the Gods to give him his Fireheart back. Don’t think about Aelin screaming and sobbing as she watches from the Afterlife, as she watches Rowan slowly return to the male he once was; distant, grieving, and alone.
