Arab slave trade, South Eastern slave trade, Imperial Japan war crimes in China, Turkey committing genocide against four ethnic groups, Aztec human sacrifice, Mongols destroying entire cities of human being to get other communities to surrender to the Khan, Indian caste system, and the Persian, Ottoman, Egyptian, Arab, Aztec and Incan  empires waging war on other peoples subjugating them to slavery and murder prior to Europe becoming a center of political power during industrialization. In a free society it is the culture that we create that controls the market. Some commentators like to complain about “the immorality of the free market”, but the precise character and morality of any market is always determined by that which lies beyond it. The market consists of the choices that we freely make; it is not a force which lies outside us. Now to be clear, freedom will never feature the controlled moral conformity of a dictatorial society; things will happen which we do not like. But as history shows us, the general character of a free society will change depending upon the values that we choose to adopt as a people.
