The school is calling it “horse playing” and trying to sweep it under the rug.

I lay in bed, sounds of fireworks ring in the distance sounding more like gunshots to the heart of democracy.

How could we let this happen?

Once again, Trump was underestimated.

Once again we thought we have a slam dunk.

So who is to blame?

I want to scream and yell and cry and shout. How could we allow this to happen? How could that many people underestimate a monster who’s not even trying to hide it?

How can an overprotective father threaten a men his daughter is dating in one breathe and in the next support and man who wants to grab women by the pussy? How can a mother support a sexual predator who wants to take away her rights?

Earlier this summer, Diddy found himself in some hot water with an unlikely source.

Alfredo P. Gonzalez of the Sinaloa Cartel filed a $666,000 defamation lawsuit against Bay Boy Entertainments CEO, Sean “Diddy” Combs. Gonzalez alleges a “business partner” of Combs reached out looking to acquire “some young [g]irls/[b]oys for a party in New York.”

The scathing 6 page dismissal from Judge Laura Taylor Swain further details how after being told no repeatedly, the “business partner” tried to assure that Diddy had “everything on lock.” The Cartel informed them that there was no money in sex trafficking and the call ended without a deal being made. Gonzalez claims this call with Diddy hurt their business and was suing for defamation.

It goes without saying that the Cartel is not a legitimate business, the phrase “illegal drug smuggling and sale business” showing up repeatedly.

The Cartel aren’t dumb, they can afford good lawyers. Lawyers who would have informed them that this lawsuit would go nowhere. In fact, the Cartel themselves had to have know this lawsuit would be dismissed before the ink dried on the paper.

But winning wasn’t the point.

In fact, I believe this lawsuit was less about money and more about making a statement. When the Cartel has higher morals than you, that’s a problem.

With Diddy now sitting securely behind bars until his trail in May of 2025, time will only tell what new evidence comes to light and what celebrities were involved.

Millennials, now is the time to listen to all the songs you enjoyed in our youth, cause Hollywood and the music scene as we know it is about to come crashing down around us.

We haven’t been properly introduced, I’m Carly. I take 7 pills a day and have multiple mental illnesses you probably know little to nothing about and have never considered committing a mass shooting. Now that we’ve got that awkward intro out of the way... The whole “mental illness increases gun violence” myth can about in the 90’s after Columbine. There is little to no evidence that anyone diagnosed with a mental illness is more likely to commit an act of gun violence than anyone else. Less than 3% to 5% of crimes involve a person with mental illness. Fewer than 5% of all gun-related deaths between 2001 and 2010 were committed by someone with a mental illness. Those who study violence prevention have deemed mass shootings to be too rare an act to see if mental illness does indeed lie at the heart of it. Drugs and alcohol, on the other hand, increase the chances of gun violence by 7-fold. Where is your outrage that individuals can bring loaded guns into bars? A history of childhood abuse, binge drinking, and male gender are also predictive factors. Policies that allow firearms during emotionally charged situations also increase the chances for violence and homicides are more likely in homes where guns are found. Availability is guns is more of a predictor of gun violence than mental illness. Examples: Australia’s number of mass shootings dropped to zero after they banned them in ‘96. And the lone psychopath theory? 85% of mess shootings occur within social networks. It has been suggested that people with mental illness are less likely to commit crimes as they tend to isolate or withdraw and are actually more likely to be victims of violent crimes themselves

Now let’s talk about the dangers of the media, mass shootings, and mental illness. 

Sean Penn and his costar find themselves in hot water this week after an interview during an interview promoting their new HULU series ‘The First.’

First, let’s address the quote that’s probably trending on twitter by now, “receptacle of the salacious.”

What the what? #ThingsIDontUnderstand

Receptacle: one that receives and contains something: CONTAINER

Salacious: arousing or appealing to sexual desire or imagination

I’m a visual thinker, so at this point, I’m imagining a container filled with people reading cheesy romance novels.

When asked to clarify he replied “Well, we don’t know what’s a fact in many of the cases. Salacious is as soon as you call something a movement that is really a series of many individual accusers, victims, accusations, some of which are unfounded.”

Translation: He doesn’t believe the victims.

As for

“Divide[ing] men and women?”

Really Sean? Women AND men can be victims of sexual assault. The Catholic church is a prime example. I could rattle off statistics of abuse in the church til I’m blue in the face, but that probably wouldn’t even come close to what the actual numbers are.  

His costar, Natascha McElhone, trying to come in with the save, follows up with “I think what Sean was leading to was this bubble of actors or people in magazines that have gotten attention from it. And of course, it’s terrific, they put a spotlight on it. Now, we need to go in the places where this is happening behind closed doors and it’s not exposed and there's voices not being heard.”

Everyone is so focused on Sean’s salacious whatever that they missed this little nugget.

The irony is beautiful.

“[The] bubble of actors or people in magazines that have gotten attention from it.” They only got attention because they spoke out, and are giving others the strength to do the same.

You can’t know what’s going on behind closed doors unless someone speaks out, and speaking out against a high profile person or entity *cough* Catholic Church *cough* is certainly going to get some attention.

Unless you’ve been living under a rock, you’ve heard about Brett Kavanaugh and his less than savory character.

The latest in this made for tv horror story comes in the form of an open letter, signed by 65 of his closest high school female friends and acquaintances from 5 different schools in the Bethesda, Maryland area.

Enter that awkward moment when he went to a private all-boys school.

I don’t know 65 people, let alone 65 people from a high school I did not attend. And yet it only took a single day to get 65 women to vouch for his character.

Funny how that works.

BuzzFeed News reached out to these women for comments, one of which said she was contacted Thursday “about the possibility of signing on to a letter attesting to Kavanaugh’s character. Megan Williams told BuzzFeed News that she was not aware of specific allegations against Kavanaugh when she signed the letter, but said, ‘I can’t even tell you how out of character’ that would be and made clear that she stood behind the letter. ‘The guy’s a saint’.”
