sometimes i feel like people forget autism is a disability. and that’s not a bad thing! i’m all for disability acceptance, im proud of my disabilities. but i feel like we forget autism can hurt.

it hurts that i have to put more time and energy into socializing than others.

it hurts when i need to move so bad, usually cause im overwhelmed by either my surroundings or emotions, that i thrash and hurt myself.

it hurts that i cant be in places that are too loud or too bright, which on bad days can be as simple as a small, quiet noise or dim lights.

it hurts that i struggle to tell when im hungry, thirsty, tired, etc. so i can’t properly take care of myself. it doesn’t help my insomnia and i get very nauseas and get UTIs.

i 100% believe in autism acceptance. i don’t want a cure. but i also want us the acknowledge that it can hurt. it doesn’t mean my entire life will hurt, but some parts will. and i want a community where we can see both sides, see the hurt, and celebrate it anyway.

It’s crazy that an app like GoodRx exists to get your prescription medicine cheaper, and this doesn’t make ppl ask the question “so why is this medicine so expensive in the first place?” The app shows you the cheapest price available for the medicine, meaning that the price isn’t some fixed thing that has to be that high. On a side note, I think the executives of pharmaceutical companies that prize profits over ppl should be shoved into an active wood chipper

I’m just saying if Daniel Radcliffe, the literal protagonist of the Harry Potter franchise since the age of ten years old, was able to disavow JK Rowling and move on from the HP universe then actually what the fuck is anyone else’s excuse. There is no one else on the planet who can say their entire childhood was HP more than that guy and he still cared about trans people more than the average tumblr user who says “we’re protesting by making all her characters queer and trans!!” like you can do better. What's frustrating about the Musk and Trump thing is that. Like.

It's a distraction.

Trump cancelling the subsidies to electric cars was a campaign promise. That was basically announced months ago, I think Musk just didn't expect Trump to go through with it

And Musk saying Trump is in the Epstein files, is like. We knew. The files are everyone that Epstein associated with, and Trump has photos with the guy. We all knew.

I mean, it's a lot of flash, but to me it does feel like a bit of a nothingburger?

It feels like a distraction.

Even if the emotions are genuine, Trump might be getting encouragement to blow up the relationship so that people are distracted from the many real problems of the Big Beautiful Bill. And also so that the Left feels like there's momentum on Damaging The Right As A Cohesive Block.

So we're distracted, instead of:

Noticing how many Republicans are saying "I wouldn't have voted yes if I'd actually read the BBB"

Paying attention to the new travel ban

Recognizing that this isn't really moving anything

Calling our senators about the insanely stupid tax breaks in the BBB

And any number of other government actions that are shaping up to have real and lasting impacts on us

Everyone laughing at Louisiana hospital systems for begging the US senate not to pass this bill and warning of the death toll it will cause has made me lose my fucking faith in humanity. Even if “They voted for it.” (many did not, Louisiana has a horrific history of gerrymandering, specifically to suppress Black voters, around 1/3rd of the population of the state) no one deserves to fucking die because their medical care was cut and their local hospital shut down so rich people could pay less in taxes.
