also you literally cannot spend that much time with your characters and not love them… and also hate them… but mostly love them… these stupid idiots… like if you genuinely hated your protagonist you would just stop writing because it wouldn’t be fun anymore? the idea that she’s some kind of uniquely evil genius creator who’s like actually I’m going to spend months of my life creating this love interest whom I secretly DESPISE and want to CUT DOWN and hope will DIE IN A DITCH… be so for real lol
