ok im back on my “why would you make raoul abusive to justify shipping christine with other characters” bullshit because like. you dont need to. christine can be unhappy in a relationship even if the other person is great and really loves her. like. she can feel guilty that she doesnt reciprocate this intense love for a man who tried to save her life but ended up almost killed and so she probably feels like she owes him for putting him in danger. he can be nice and considerate and gentle and she can still resent him/not feel the same/be hung up on another character. she can lay in his arms at night telling herself she loves him but knowing that she’s lying to herself. I think that’s infinitely more compelling than “oh he’s a rich asshole and can’t make her cum”
