She sometimes doubted her feelings towards him, because no one really noticed the butterflies fighting inside of her every time he would do something that suggested they were more than friends.

Her mind created different scenarios every time his arm was resting on her shoulders, or he laughed at something she said.

She couldn’t breathe normally when he laughed at something that she said, especially when he was close to her and placed a hand on his chest while the other gently circled her neck. She had a hard time focusing because it was her who put the smile on his face.

But it didn’t matter how many times she made him laugh or cheered him up after a rough week, she wasn’t the girl who got to walk hand in hand with him, or feel his soft lips whenever she wanted. There was always someone else.
