This took me a long time to get to. I'm trying to get back to the swing of things here, so if this is terrible, bear with me... Also, this is in second person's pov, female reader, looks unspecified, and the pov switch whenever you see a line of '-'.
When have those colors became such a comfort...?
Lying awake in your bed, you stared at the ceiling. Soulmate... How does one find them...? When all you knew was their day, looking though their eyes, living their life. Any reflective surface or interface with their appearances are blurred, you could only see part of their physical features. Additionally, the dreams fade away after a few moments of consciousness.
Leaving behind a faint memory of starry blue gloves, and the pearly white skeletal features.
With a sigh, you decided to crawl out of bed and start your day. It's a lovely Monday, with your quaint little flower shop closed, all that you need to do is run a few errands and you could relax.
Well, relax and run your gaming channel. Maybe stream some games too... There's a multi-player game that you've been dying to play with some online friends... Or at least one online friend... Silverflower.
Your first 'meeting' was fairly interesting... With the both of you mistaking each other's gender... He had mistaken you as a male and you had mistaken him as a female, when, in reality, the opposite is correct.
After that initial slip up, the both of you became good friends, often streaming and gaming together. Many fans of yours and his ship you two together with how often you two appear in each other's channels. The both of you even joked about becoming an official couple before, but it remains as a joke.
You dismissed that train of thought and returned to the task at hand. No use dwelling on this after all.
A faint, warm thought of blue gloves and white bones resides deep within your soul.
----------------------------------------------------
He can't believe he's thinking about this...
He doesn't want to get up.
Every night, he lives the dream. Though the eyes of his soulmate, living the life of the one made for him...
Every morning, that dream slips away from his grasp like water. All memory of his soulmate, lost.
Only a lingering memory remains.
It's like his soulmate is so close to him, yet so far. Divided by an invisible wall. Destined to look at each other, yet never together.
He tried to locate his only one. Paying attention to the people around him, trying to find that link.
Many fit the description of a silver watch accompanied by the scent of fragrant flowers.
Yet, none of them felt like the right one.
Sometimes the watch didn't felt like the right one, sometimes the scent isn't the one he knew, sometimes it's the overall feeling, the feeling of something just isn't right, that person just isn't it.
He isn't a creep, he doesn't actively seek for the one. He doesn't actively engage with those who fit his clues as well. After all, they don't feel right to him, and he could tell with just one glance.
With a rueful sigh, he gets up and gets ready for work. He can't be late for work, after all, it's his turn for morning patrol.
Hopefully, he'll get some down time to shred some games with his online bestie Bluebones... Maybe he should look at some fanart of the two of them before his morning patrol too... It's quite interesting how their fans ship them. Someone even made a ship name, Sliverblue. It'll do some good to scan some fanart... At the very least, it could restore his cheer.
Returning to his preparations, a single thought sinks deep in his soul... A glimmering silver watch and fragrant flowers.
----------------------------------------------------
"Alright, let's do this!"
Another gaming night with Silverflower. Your heart pumped with excitement hands tense on your controller, ready to shred another game with your friend.
"Come on, Siv, ya ain't bringing your a-game!"
"AS IF! I'M KILLING IT HERE!"
"Hell yea! It's almost dead!"
"LANGUAGE! AND, YES, IT IS. JUST ONE MORE... HA! TAKE THAT, DRAGON!"
"Whoo hoo! Nice work, partner."
"THANKS. YOU DID AMAZING AS WELL."
"Well, I'm tired after that battle. Sorry folks, I'm going to have to end the stream here."
An array of comments flood the chat as fans urged you to continue.
"THAT'S QUITE A SIGHT. BUT I'M AFRAID IT'S TIME FOR ME TO SIGN OFF AS WELL."
Another array of comments.
"Hahaha! Siv, you're making it worse!"
"Ahahaha! Enough, enough... Haha... L-logging off."
----------------------------------------------------
"I Know You Well Enough, Blue. You Don't End Streams This Early."
"I'm sorry, Siv. I just- I've got some things on my mind..."
"Would You Like To Talk About It?"
"Ah... It's a bit... Personal... Soulmate stuff."
"Ah. It's Quite Alright. I've Been Troubled By That As Well."
"Well, it's no use dwelling on it, right?"
"Yeah... But It's Frustrating As Well. Even So, I Wish You The Best Of Luck In Finding Your Partner."
"You too. Goodnight, Siv."
He logged off, then sighed. His online bestie is troubled about it too? What are the odds? ...Actually it's pretty high, but still. She's a good person. She shouldn't be troubled by this.
It's not like he could do anything though... Might as well get some rest...
----------------------------------------------------
Saturday. One of the busiest days. Bouquets, floral decor, herbal tea, everyone seems to need something.
The quaint shop is bustling with people, and you've been on your feet for the entire morning. Helping someone pick out flowers for a bouquet, suggesting certain floral decor to another, and finding the perfect herbal tea mix for the other... You're growing tired.
Thankfully it's almost noon and the crowd is slowly dispersing.
You returned to the back to leisurely fix a few orders until it's time for lunch.
Still busying with your bouquet, you didn't turn to face the customer.
"UM. HELLO. I'M HERE TO PICK UP A BOUQUET FOR QUEEN TORIEL?"
"Ah. Just a moment, please."
You fixed up the bouquet and turned to face the customer.
You stopped mid-sentence.
Starry blue gloves, pearly white bones...
And your soul pulsing within you...
----------------------------------------------------
Staring at her in awe, he couldn't believe his eyes.
That silver watch... And the fragrance of the quaint floral shop...
Why hasn't it occurred to him that his soulmate is a florist?
After all this time, he finally found her.
"Umm... H-here. The bouquet."
"A-AH! YES! THANK YOU. I'M SANS. BUT PEOPLE CALL ME BLUEBERRY... OR BLUE, OR BERRY..."
"Pfft- Hahaha... I get it, I get it. I'm (Y/N). Nice to finally meet you."
"You Too... Ah... I... Need To Deliver This. I'll Come Right Back."
He blips away to Toriel's house, set the bouquet on her living room table and blips back. Missing a chiding 'Hey!' from the queen.
"A-Ah. I've Forgot To Mention My Ability... I'm S-"
"Ah. Glad You Thought So."
"You must feel me what that is and what you can do!"
"We Can Chat Over Lunch! My Treat!"
"What a gentleman," she said with a poorly mimicked accent.
"PFFT- HAHAHA!" "Hahaha!"
He could feel his soul seek in happiness at the presence of his soulmate.
Soulmates, now destined to be together.
"Hey guys! Silverflower here. I'm with my beloved boyfriend and soulmate, Bluebones!"
"HELLO EVERYONE! TODAY WE'LL BE PLAYING..."
Alright, that's one done. Phew. Hope you all enjoyed that. I'm still a lil rusty...
