omg i need to tell someone this i just found out harrowing news so my friend from college and i have lived together since 2022 and in 2023 she adopted her uncles cat (who was like 15 at the time) and he had been adopted by another family and then they declawed him and then kicked him out on the street :((( and her uncle started feeding him and eventually his young kids were making him super stressed so she adopted him and he was pretty traumatized when we started living together but he's really so sweet and purrs all the time and wants to be around/on us at all times...tell me why we were talking and she was telling about how her uncle sent his other cat off to a farm once he started dying/hissing/peeing everywhere and she was like yeah why not do that with smokey (her/our cat) and i was horrified. like how do you just abandon an animal like that?? we talked about it and she eventually changed her mind but like that's evil
