Wow. You’re at the same place as your favorite and you know you’re going to see him soon. The minutes you’re waiting for him to step on the court feel like hours. You’re so excited and nervous at the same time. Then, the waiting has an end and a guy nobody knows starts introducing him like “Here comes the defending champion and world number one, from Serbia, Novaaaaak Djokooooviiiiiiic.” Everybody is applauding and some people (like me) are yelling “Novaaaaaaak, Novaaaak” and are whistling like crazy. Novak is on the court, is waving to the crowd and is smiling. I saw his match against Marin Cilic at the World Tour Finals in London in 2014. While the players were warming up, my eyes were being non stop on Novak and his shots. When the match started, I couldn’t believe my eyes how that guy was moving on his favorite court, the hard court. I mean most of the top players move well, otherwise they couldn’t be at the top since the movement is probably the most important aspect in tennis. But you can’t even compare Novak’s movement to the other ones, especially when you’ve seen it live. People don‘t know what a huge difference it is when you watch him on TV and when you watch him live. It feels like there isn’t any ball that Novak can’t at least touch. It was Novak’s first match at the WTFs last year and his performance was amazing, so dominant. The match lasted for like one hour, so I didn’t get to see Novak for too long on the court. He beat Cilic 6-1 6-1 but fortunately I saw his his practice the previous day.
I can only say to all people who haven’t seen Novak live yet and maybe get a chance to do so one day: Take your chance, you will never regret and neither forget it. It’s an experience that can’t be described.
