The princess cookie episode in adventure time is so amazingly good and tone setting and how it lets you know hey so bubblegum has a stubborn dismissive controlling type personality that isn’t always exactly in line with absolute goodness. She’s flawed the system she’s built is flawed. Punishment no consideration no trial no empathy for circumstances she and her gov help create I mean what a lesson for kids. What a story eye opener Jake straying from orders and everyone else’s telling him criminals don’t deserve peace or to be heard out and instead embracing and relating to cookie… making him feel like his dreams were possible even for a moment. And of course you know it’s bittersweet princess cookie gained a friend but is ultimately institutionalized as crazy by bubblegum still Jake stops by with a hand made crown for him it’s all he can do but he does it. I also think these moments influences Finn later on to not be so black and white about things
