Finding out that you’re not alone in a house full of people should be no surprise, but somehow his lack of sleep has put him off his game, his mind deciding to not be hyper aware, in the time that he probably will need it the most.  “Hey, Bruce.”  Voice is gruff, mostly from lack of sleep, and he finds himself shrugging, “Just can’t sleep.  Don’t know why.”  He does, but there isn’t any need to get the scientist involved in his nightmares, especially when he already feels like too many people are in his head as it is.  “But what about you?  You’re up at this time too.”

He swears most of the time that he could probably get whiplash from the quickness which Bucky’s mood with him changes.  One minute he can’t stand him, the next minute he’s being playfully flirty.  Normally Sam would just laugh at the words, but this time he can’t help but say something back.  “Yeah, man.”  Chuckle escapes his lips, “Got a mirror and a couple crystal balls down there.  You can gaze into them all day and night if you want to.”

He hates to admit that he’s so tired, he’d probably pass out as soon as his back hits the bed, but something about the way she speaks, he knows she means business.  “Char...”  Words trail off as a yawn pulls from his lips, and he’s pushing himself from the chair, setting down the game controller that he’s been gripping for the last five hours.  “Fine, but only if you’re coming with me.”  He knows he’ll have to concede eventually, but he also understands that he won’t get any sleep if she isn’t next to him, so he takes her hand, leading her toward their bedroom. 

Pulling the apron over his head, he’s startled by the young witch, eyes searching her face as if to ask why she herself is awake at four in the morning as well.  “I was.... baking cookies.”  He knows damn well it isn’t a good reason, but since moving in with all of these people, he’s had to make up so many reasons why he’s awake in the middle of the night.  It isn’t untrue, he has in fact been making cookies, but more as something to keep him busy while he can’t sleep, than anything else.  “Just put them in the oven actually, so maybe if you hang around a few minutes, you can have some when they come out.”
