Rebecca Barnes

Once the coffee had started brewing, Charlotte began making breakfast, deciding that a small selection of things to eat would be better than just having the easily predicted eggs and bacon. Besides, she had company (rather special company, really), and having multiple things to cook would keep her mind from overthinking things, as she was normally known to do. 

But even as she got things ready, her mind began to slowly wander. She didn’t regret whatever happened between her and her friend, that much she knew. Maybe it helped that she couldn’t remember what exactly had happened, but from the way they had both woken up, she had a pretty good idea what it had been. If Rebecca wanted to explore whatever this was with her, then Charlotte would be willing to do so. If not, then hopefully nothing awkward would settle between them.

A small, shy smile spread across Charlotte’s face when she felt Rebecca’s lips press against her cheek, and her face began to grow warm. “I kind of went all out, since it’s a special occasion and all,” she explained. “And I did, surprisingly. I think we’re both understandably fuzzy this morning, so, I’ll give you a free pass this time.” She winked, then turned her attention back to the stove. “Are you busy today? I hope I haven’t made you late for anything.”

Eyes find those of the other woman, locking on momentarily before she's focusing back on her coffee, taking a quick sip.  "I'm glad to hear that you've slept well, I've never shared a bed with anyone before, so I'm not sure how that works."  It's true, the time that she came from, it wasn't a time where women were as comfortable in being sexual as they are in the current time.  There were of course women who were, but Rebecca was not one of them.  She had kept herself chaste for the man she was to marry, but that marriage had never happened, and now here she was.

Plucking a piece of meat from the pan, Rebecca takes a bite, a small growl coming from her stomach as she does so.  "It's so good honestly."  Smile forms on her lips again as she finished the meat, grabbing another piece.  "Things do taste quite a bit different now than they did when I was a child.  More flavor in everything than I've ever noticed before."

You got: Obsession

You have to hold yourself back when you fall in love because you've scared away more than a few love interests. You can't help it. You just want to surround yourself with whatever it is you love at the moment. But obsession with one thing often blinds us from all of the other enjoyments in life. When you feel the cloud of obsession forming, try stepping away for a breath of fresh air.

Well, now this was definitely something Charlotte would have to think about, and the two of them would have to discuss things before either of them went their separate ways that day. Would they want to forget this ever happened? Or would…would they want to see what exactly had attracted their drunk selves to each other in the first place? Charlotte had never really thought of herself as going that way before, but that had been when she refused to even allow herself a friendship. Now…now she had the freedom to figure all that stuff out all over again.

“Oh, right. Turn left, it’s the door on the right,” Charlotte said, gesturing with her chin towards her bedroom door with a smile. “And feel free to use whatever you need in there; shampoo, body wash, you name it.” Taking a moment, she finally slipped out from underneath the covers, and grabbed her thin gray bathrobe from its hook on her wall, slipping into it before tying it securely around her waist. 

“Hey, hey, I understand.” Charlotte said, turning back to face Rebecca. “It’s…it’s my first time being with a girl like this, too. We’re in the same boat here, and we can figure it out over breakfast, if you want. And no, it’s totally fine. We’re in my apartment, and the rules say whoever’s place it is, they have to make breakfast.” She grinned cheekily. “At least, those are my rules. Go shower, take your time. I’ll have some coffee ready by the time your done.”

It doesn’t take long to find the bathroom, and before she knows it, Rebecca is allowing the steaming hot water to wash away all of her reservations about what has happened.  She knew that she didn't necessarily regret what had happened between herself and Charlotte, but the thing was, if they'd been back in the forties, things would have been so different, especially if anyone had found out about the two of them.  These days it would seem that people were more laid back in terms of being accepting about things like sexuality.

She stands in the shower for what seems like forever, but when she checks her phone, she realizes it hasn't been even fifteen minutes.  A low chuckle passes her lips as she steps from the shower, wrapping a large towel around her body and leaving the room, to find her way to the kitchen.  Charlotte's promise holds true and there's a pot of coffee finished on the counter, when she finally finds her way into the eating area.
